I have a Morrison Dakota longbow that is too heavy for me. I need some advice on how to go about reducing the weight of this bow. I would like to reduce the weight from 56# @ 27" to about 50 or 51# @ 27". I have the time to do this, just need to know-how to do it. Help please!! Thanks,Jim Harris.

Talk to Bob Morrison.
If you need to ask this question you are not the one to attempt this. The results can be a ruined bow when you go into uncharted treeitory like this .This bow is to good to learn on.

I have heard you can do it by sanding the bellyside of the bow, BUt I would talk to Bob Morrison and see how much he would charge to do it for you.

Listen to what Pete Ward said. If you don't have any experience with bow building I would definately talk to Bob. I would imagine that he would suggest taking the weight from the sides of the limbs not the belly. Even doing it this way you need to retiller the bow. Brokenwing
