Post by: bowmaster12 on December 17, 2008, 12:25:00 PM
when shooting trad is form like compound? standing straight up or is it better to lean foward and towards your target like fread bear  havent seen anyone else shoot except on tv.  When i first picked up my recurve it was just natrual for me to lean foward like i had seen fred bear do not sure if this is right form wouldnt it rob me of draw length and if not consistent with lean angle throw of shots?

If you do a search for 'proper alignment'....you will find a ton of info here already.

The beauty of the bowhunters form is that it can be as versatile as you want it to be.  Once you are properly aligned you can take that with you to various shot oportunities and positions.

yep form is form, I think back tension is more important when shooting trad. I was at a 3D shoot last week and one of the archers had a very aggressive style. I think it would be a good way to shoot if your hunting from the ground. I don't think it would effect your draw one way or the other. Check it out and see, stand up and come to full draw and then lean forward towards your target, draw length shouldn't change.
