That is some cool Rob....love the first clip where you see how the shot works through the arm muscles.

Rob,

Thank you for posting links to these vids.  I was talking and shooting with a new acquaintance last night about this very thing while trying to figure out my arrow flight.  He is an experienced trad guy and I am a newb.  My arrows are still weak so tomorrow I will trim and find the right length and point combo.  He was a great help coaching me on my form as well.  Man I love this stuff!     :bigsmyl:

These are by far the coolest videos of archery I've ever seen (except for that hot, flexible girl who shoots bows with her legs and feet!).

You read about paradox etc. but seeing it really helps your understanding of what happens when an arrow is released.

I'd like to see a video of a center shot bow to see the difference between that style of bow vs. the Hill style.

Very Cool Vids!! I Watched the Old Easton Video Tape, "Back In The Day" when my Mentor was Trying to Explain "Archers Paradox". Me, Being Mildly Dense, have got to SEE it to Understand It!! It Worked!! Arrows Look Like Wet Noodles Coming away from the Bows!!

Those videos are good, as are the Beiter ones PB linked to in another recent thread.

What I'd really like to see in addition would be a slow-motion clip of a badly tuned arrow coming off the bow. That would be an extra eye-opener.

Best,

Martin

Some made comments to how much handshock from a longbow. Id like to see the comparison of the longbow versus a recurve.

Guys,
Thanks for the input. I'm glad to see you enjoy the videos as much as I do.
I just added a new one to the site that shows my sister shooting her recurve.
I plan on making many more.....not as quickly as I'd like, but hopefully at a steady pace  :)

I plan on exploring as many issues on tuning as I can. My first few videos were more or less experiments with the camera itself. Soon I'll start doing more direct comparisons.

Todd I don't know how you can hit anything using a rubber band for a string and shooting rubber arrows(LOL). Cool videos ,amazing what slow mo shows-thanks-Ray.

Here is a recurve video that Todd did....

  Howatt Recurve Slo-Mo (http://talonoptix.com/Recurve.html)

Definitely some riser movement going on.... but that Hill bow video confirms why some folks say it's like smacking a ball bat up against a tree.

It would also be interesting to see the movement in a metal riser bow.

Thank you Todd, the videos are very good and dispell many myths, especially in the realm of how an arrow gets off the shelf. The idea of creating a "trough" for fletching to pass-through during the launch sequence seems less important after viewing the videos.
