Title: shootn coach
Post by: chessieboy on April 10, 2008, 12:37:00 AM
I'm looking for a shooting coach in or around Pa. A weekend class or the like would even be great. Anyone have any leads?

I don't know what part of PA your from but the "Yoda" of all archery coaches can't be too far from you......Len Cardinale, Waretown, NJ.

If you can get a lesson with him, I promise it's worth the time, effort and money!!  ;)

If you can get Len Cardinale to give you a lesson, I'd be interested as well.

Len taught me to shoot when I was a kid. He ran a shop in Bellville, N.J. called Butts and Bows for years. They ran the N.J. state hunter education course at his shop. So at 10 years old I went to get my license, the instructor looked at me with a skeptical look on his face as I dragged my used Bear compound bow (Len always tried to get me to shoot a recurve) to the line in front of all the other adults and proceeded to drop 6 arrows in the bull (all touching) at 15 yards. So the instructor asked who taught me to shoot and there was Len and my dad in the back of the room smiling and clapping. Good memories as a kid. Lens a great guy, and knows his stuff!

I just wish he had the shop still now that I am learning about the recurves and stuff. I ran into him at a sportsman show a few years ago and we talked, but he’s getting old…what a great guy! If he’s giving lessons, I’m in too!

It would be hard to get a better coach than Len Cardinale.  He really understands how to go about developing a strong disciplined archery shot.

More than specific techniques, he gives you the tools and principles to use to find your own best shot.

Be sure to take a notebook with you.  I spent a weekend with Len a couple of years ago and I still refer back to my notes.

I'd visit Terry for lessons - even pay money.

I'm signed up to go to Bob Wesley's shooting clinic in Pittsboro NC this September. email: [email protected]
