Hey Gang,
I just recently arrived in Ireland from the US for a semester of study abroad. The only problem is I have basically no exposure to any sort of hunting especially no trad bowhunting. man-o-man I'm gonna go nuts. On top of that the campus is loaded with crows of the europen type. Big and dumb. What I could do with a bow or a shotgun here! Just need to vent a little. There might be some hope though as there is an archery club on campus and of course plenty other things to see and do in Ireland and Europe(which I look forward to immensely), but just not quite the same without the release and experience of hunting. Well, perhaps it will make me appreciate the right to hunt in the US all the more. Take care fellas, matt

Matt...Take the opportunity you were given. Let's see, there is Bass and Guiness, and Harp, and...... A semester is not so long. You will get thru it and hopefully be back in time for the fall seasons. Study and enjoy what you can see and learn over there. Europe is, in many ways different from the US. I have been bopping around eastern Europe now for several weeks already (work) and I know exactly what you mean.
Are you normally at Madison, or one of the other campuses ?

Man, I'd swap places with you in a heart beat. Especially since buck and Duck season is out in my neck of the woods.

He he. Now you know what we have to put up with all the time. Pure thoughts and cold showers might help. But you have a lot of beautiful countryside to explore there and like Chuck said, you have Guinness...real Guinness that takes ages to pour becuase it's so rich and creamy. There are some good field archery clubs in Ireland too, so you shouldn't have a problem trying to find somewhere to shoot. Enjoy your stay on our side of the Pond.

Ah Dan.....I might have to disagree heartily with the statement " the gals....." (unless that was said in jest, maybe). It is a different world, enjoy it. There is a lot to enjoy.

Fellas,
don't take this to mean that I don't want to be here now, quite the contrary. I was just commenting on the lack of hunting here compared to the states. I will thoroughly enjoy myself and the opportunities presented to me, especially the guinness;)- which does taste better over here- no kidding. Take care fellas, Matt
