Sorry about first post.
Tring to hold bow with just thumb and pointer finger to reduce torque. But, I have been getting major pain in my left hand (right handed shooter) after shooting for a while.

Been there, two things, if you have been hanging your bow on your thumb without getting it into your hand, it could be tendon strains. Ice and patience. It takes a while to heal, you need to stop doing what caused it. You could also have a bone in your wrist out of place. A good bone cracker can adjust these and give you advise on how to exercise it for prevention.

What type of bow are your using?

I'm using a Martin Dream Catcher (recurve).

I asked because I get pain in my bowhand after shooting a D-Shaped Longbow after a period of time. When this developes, I usually move back to the recurve which pretty much ellimates the pain for me anyway. My pain happens more in the palm area up to the V between the thumb and index finger.
Is your bow giving you a lot of handshock for some reason?

The bow does vibrate some after release but does not jump out of my hand. The pain is in the lower knuckel of index finger, bird finger and ring finger. When I hold the bow tight with my whole hand it doesn't happen but I tend to torque and shoot right. Using just thumb and pointer finger hold takes care of the torque but as I've found increase pressure on my hand.
Is there a way to hold my hand differently so the weight is in the wrist to reduce tendon strain?
Anywhere that I can read about this?
