I usually try to work through this by myself but this time I need some help . Im trying to set up a new to me Treadway 54in longbow 50 @ 28 . I had a 58in treadway 49 @ 28 awhile back and 2016 cut to 29 in. with 125 tips shot great out of that bow so I thought I would try them on the 54in treadway but the 2016 flew 6 in. right of my aimming point so I thought I need a stiffer shaft and maybe a brace hight adjustment with some bare shat tuning . When i went to the stiffer 2018 cut to the same lenght it was so stiff it was slapping my riser and the feather was cutting my hand so I went back to the 2016 still not understanding why the 2016 fly wide right of the mark . I decided to bare shaft the 2016 and the bare shaft is hitting with my fletched 2016 but it is almost side ways to the right on impact. Some of my results say the 2016 is to weak and some say way to stiff . Any ideas ?
(I am a right hand shooter)

Have you tried shooting the bare shaft with a very high nocking point, maybe 7/8", and a higher than normal brace height, maybe 1" over normal, just to eliminate the possibility that the bare shaft might be rebounding off your arrow shelf and giving you a false indication?
What is your actual draw length and what is the recommended draw length range of the 54" bow?
From my own experience, a 2016 shouldn't be that far off for your 50 lb bow, depending on what actual pounds you're drawing, so I'm kind of puzzled too, just fishing around for an answer.

Yea I have moved the nocking point around and raised/lowered the brace height. Mike Treadway said the 54in model can be shot out to 29in and I draw 28in so Im alright on that . I think my arrows may be stiff due to the bareshaft results and the shots to the right are just comming from getting use to shooting a short light weight longbow . At least thats what I think but the more I shoot it the more I start hitting where Im looking and not seeing the wide right shots but I still see alot of tail wagging in arrow flight . I hate to see a arrow fly bad and cant figure out what it is .

I agree, you want to see the arrows fly straight. Can you try the 2016's with heavier tips, maybe 145 grain?

I put some 145s on them but I didnt see alot of diferance . I dont have anything heavier but I may ride out tomorrow to the archery shop and see if they have any.

Brittman in my 56"r i have had good luck with 30" 35-55s
When i shoot 2016 at 29" i cant add enough point weight ti getem to fly.. 48lbs at 28"s. I know mike recommends on on fairly high nock point as well...

Gator1,
Im supprised that 2016s are to stiff given how fast this little bow shots . I may try to find some 1916s and see how they fly .
