Title: snake skin backing

I have a martin longbow with snake skin backing...i was wondering if there was anything to do to the backing to preserve it...
i have heard to use super glue ..any comments or answers will be greatly appreciated

I use several coats of true-oil.  Put on a coat; let it completely dry and do it again.
