True Love and I out shooting. This is her form right now, more or less. We're still working on her release and anchor point.
She's been doing this about 3 months, so go easy on her. :)

she looks like she is gripping the bow pretty tight and also her elbow could raise slightly and that would give her some more strength for more weight!!
although she lookd pretty good and confidence is everything when shooting especially when your young keep here happy

First thing: it looks like she is dropping her bow arm upon release. Peeking, maybe? Explain that there's no need to move the bow to watch the arrow: the arrow will move up in her field of vision. Follow through!

I agree with eveyone above. Her right arm elbow looks a bit low. It should be in line with the arrow. She is dropping the bow a bit after her release. It does look like she is gripping the bow pretty hard. If she likes shooting fast then her hold time is fine. However, she might want to try holing at anchor a bit longer before release, if possible. A second longer would give her more time to focus on the target.

and on top of everything everybody posted,,,she looks like she's enjoying herself! pretty much the most important part for now. tell her i said "GOOD JOB" and keep up the good work,,,and keep her draw elbow up a little too. she could relax her bow arm a bit and "just" touch the riser with her fingers to hold it,,,no need to strangle it,lol. along with all the other fine tips everyone else gave i'm sure she'll be just fine :thumbsup:

Looks like she it well on her way....
Here's a few things I saw...
1 She's short drawing and not reaching a full contact solid anchor
2 The above is only allowing her elbow to come back to 5 o'clock so she's not getting enough back tension.
3 She is creeping forward a bit just before release.
Stay after it gal....like I said, looks like you are well on your way.

In the stills, it looks like she could open her stance a bit. Otherwise, what has been said above is right on.
It's nice that you have this mutual interest.

yeah, after reading this and examining MY form, I've realized that my elbow has drifted down a bit. I need to raise my elbow a tad.

I would like to ask her to try canting the bow so she can see the whole target instead of just seeing the half that a vertical bow allows.

We both have problems with canting: It's inconsistent. Besides, the sight window on the recurve allows for an unobstructed view of the target. I shoot my selfbows vertical and have no problems seeing the target.
No need for me to see the whole target, I suppose. In only need to see the tiny spot I'm aiming at. :)

She has a more target style of shooting which is fine if thats what she wants to do.But if she decides to hunt she will have to learn to make some changes.Holding a bow out and then drawing back is not good, not canting is not good (not just for seeing the sight picture but for arrow correction .Lastly make sure she keeps the hand on the face as best as possible upon release. She also has that bow arm really straight out in front-again target style.For hunting you need a more relaxed fluid style.

To cant the bow you should lean into the shot. It will automatically take a person who shoots lets say Olympic style with the bow straight up and down into a cant.
Also to solve my canting issue in the beginning I added a bow quiver. The added weight allowed for an easier canting of the bow and with the added weight ( which is really not much weight at all) allowed for me to better draw back.

Guys... I often see when canting the bow is recommended and while I understand why Howard Hill had to cant the bow and the need to be able to cant the bow, if needed ,in hunting situations. I fail to understand the advice of always canting a bow of more centershot design, as much as recommending always shoot the bow vertical...am I missing somthing?
