I always thought that I must get that index finger all the way to the corner of ny mouth to be shooting correctly.
Tonight when I shot my first arrow at 31 steps I short drew and centered it . I remembered the feel and continued shooting the other 3 arrows at 22 and 18 steps . This was my group .
I shot like this for the rest of the night and was amazed at my shooting

I think that you will find it hard to maintain consistancy with this type of shooting, especially when performing cold. I firmly believe a solid anchor, solid bowarm, and clean release is the secret to success.
Please don't think I am telling you what your doing is wrong. If it works for you and your comfortable and confident in doing it. GO FOR IT!
Nice group!

Sweet group, but Asbel would caution you regarding short drawing. It is often the begining of "Snap Shooting" which can lead to "Target Panic".
Your anchor can change, but make sure it is a real and unchanging anchor. I have seen guys use the tip of their nose as anchor points, but it was an anchor point. It is tough to beat the middle finger in the corner of the mouth, but ain't nothin etched in stone in this sport. If it works, stay with it.....
