Title: Anybody shoot a Morrison Dakota Longbow?
Post by: slayer1 on November 12, 2007, 08:24:00 AM
Morrison is on my short list of bows I would like to purchase. Could someone give me some feedback on how this bow shoots, how fast, quiet, ect? I was looking at getting somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 to 62lb @ 28" 58" to 60" long. I would also appreciate some pictures if any of you guys have some...
Thanks

The Dakota is a wonderful bow!  I had one that was a little too heavy for me and sold it, but it was a dandy...very fast, very quiet, and super smooth.  I currently own a 58" Cougar that is a dream to shoot.  I'm on my way out to the airport to leave for a hunt, so I don't have time to post pics, but the workmanship is beautiful...Koa and birdseye riser, half-pinecone grip, and copperhead skins.  You can't go wrong with one of these bows!

I have a 60 inch, 55@27.  Love it.  Bought it used about three years ago.  Can't tell you the woods but it looks good and shoots better than I can.

I am hunting with a Dakota this year. I have 2 and love them. One is 60", and the other 58". I think highly of the bows and bowyer. Both of mine have the half pinecone, and I would recommend it.

Slayer, I have two Dakota's one 58" 52@27 and one 58" 53@27. They are very fast. I had to tinker with brace height and strings but have them as quiet as any other bow I have shot.
