I have been shooting with an old 3 finger glove my dad had from years ago.
The leather in the finger stalls is very thin. I have been shooting everyday this week and have blisters now even using the glove.
What type of glove provides more protection?
I've seen Several different kinds on 3River's website but I'm not sure which one would work best.
Thanks,
Forrest

Hi Forrest, I prefer the ABS SuperGlove. Super tough, and one should last a long, long time.

American Leathers “Big Shot” glove. It’s plenty thick enough to give good finger protection and slick enough to give good string release.

Let me save you and everyone else sometime. About 3 mths ago I contributed to the exact same post by another archer. The results were as follows: 63%used The BIG SHOT GLOVE ( elk, buffalo, other variations), 21% used THe DAMASCUS GLOVE (BERLIN, depending on draw wight), 11% used the SKOOKUM and the rest was broke up into several different kinds.
I personally liked the Damascus Glove until I started shooting heavier weight (60# and above). Then I went to the BIG SHOT BUFFALO, which I absolutely love. I think its the best glove on the market. I also tried American Leathers new "FULL SHOT" glove but did'nt like it due to the stalls rotating on my fingers. Somebody with a little fatter fingers would probably love it. AMERICAN LEATHERS GLOVES are a little pricey compared to others but you get what you pay for.
I hope this helps you! Dave

I like the Big Shot 'Slick Shot' as well.....got 3 of em.

My new favorite is the glove from 3 Rivers with the cordura finger stalls. Amazing!!! The great release of the Bigshot without the bulk and padding. Feels just like the standard deerskin glove but with a super slick release.

I prefer the Slick Shot from American Leathers. It fit me better than the Big Shot. American Leather products are a little more expensive than others, but more than worth every penny.

I've been using a Damscus for the past 15 years or so with a 65# recurve. It's never given me a reason to try anything else. I'm sure there are other quality gloves but you know what they say; "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." ;)

After reading this post, I ordered and received my Buffalo Big-Shot by mail today. Haven’t shot it yet, because of weather and work, but hopefully today I will. I was a little put off at first by the price but after receiving it, I understand the high cost. It’s hand-crafted in Cody, Wyoming. American Leather that’s actually made in America…..hats of to you…..I’m so used to everything I buy being made in China…what a present surprise….

Agree with Climber. The 3Rivers special with the Cordura Tips is a real winner.Complete feel for the string (NO BULK) and a super slick smooth release. Brilliant at US$19.99 and I think I have tried them all.
