I have a "Tuff Box" type plastic box I put all my bowhunting gear in at camp. I keep spare arrows, extra set of limbs, emergency fletching supplies and the like in it when we make trips out west and such. My takedown bows ride inside for the trip as well. I somehow managed to crack the lid right in the center. Its not a hole and the crack doesn't run far, its shaped like a ">".
My thought was to rough the whole top up really good and hit it with one or two coats of Flex Seal. It should seal the breach and give a no-skid top to my box. Its a sturdy box that gets sat on in camp a lot and carries some valuable archery gear. I'm just not sure if the stuff will stick to plastic or not.
Any experience with Flex Seal on plastic?
Thanks for the help,

I had a like problem. I roughed up the area and cut a piece of cloth the same size and used fletching glue to patch the hole. I thought glue that held vanes to shafts would hold to plastic—-so far it has worked

Ya might try model car cement. It kinda “melts the parts together.
Not sure if it would do the same for the case.

Go to a RV shop and get some ETRNABOND for repairing RV roofs etc. drill SMALL hole at the ends of the crack (all three points) apply the Eternabondon on both sides of the lid. That may hold it for a while. EB is similar to the flex seal.

I'd duct tape the inside and flex seal the outside...see what happens. Flex seal sticks to 5 gallon paint buckets so I'd imagine it will do just fine on a plastic tote box.

I used that stuff on a the bottom of a plastic 55 gal. barrel, sand first so it adheres.

There is a plastic welder made by Ultrasonics that allows you to weld up plastic with plastic. My neighbor has one and welded up the plastic bumper on my wife's car.

Thanks for all the advice guys!
I think I am going to glue the inside and see how the Flex Seal does on the lid after a light sanding. I kinda like the idea of a bit of no slip.
I will let all ya'll know how it goes and maybe post some pictures.

Well Charlie... I considered installing a screen door in the bottom of the box but it seemed like too much work!

Flex Seal works.....

A Duluth pack liner would be cheaper and would work every time, as long you don't poke a hole in it.

I've had great luck with similar projects just using a hot melt glue gun. Just use the hot tip to "weld" the plastic back together than apply a generous amount of hot glue over top the "weld"
I do recommend drilling the holes mentioned above.
I've used this on battery cases, plastic gun totes, etc. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks again Guys!
I have drilled the tiny holes and Glue/welded the V crack. Thinking I might try the Flex Seal on top just to put a no-skid pad on top. As soon as I get a warm day that isn't blowing 30mph I will get it done and post some photos.
(I know... good luck waiting on a calm day during an Oklahoma Spring)

I had a crack in the black water tank of my Camper, and used flex seal thinking it would be a quick fix. 2 years later it still doesn’t leak.
