Weather will turn toward the good this week. Lots to get ready for fun filled bow scrapin adventures.
-
As I understand it Mike Treadaway will be back (at least that's what he told me this past weekend), plus there's going to be room made for a few more vendors (vendor spots are always packed). BCY will be there with a ton of bow string material, serving, and string making videos. If you have any special requests (like endless jigs, particular materials or colors, etc.) let me know ASAP and I'll try to have it there for you. I'll be in my usual spot at the bottom of the hill as you come in, towards the beginning of the vendors before you get to JPE and Big Jim.

Great Chad
Gil got the OK to shoot again. I will be bringing him with me everyday.

Can smell the wood smoke , sweat and hear the scraping going full bore. Gonna be a super week leading up to the Grand Daddy of all Shoots. . . The Tennessee 21st Classic
-
Great news about Gil! I tried calling, but no luck. I'd give him crap over it, but Sherri might beat the crap out of me...
Getting close!! I have it on good authority there should be a new vendor or two this year. I'll be in my regular spot at the foot of the hill--got a bunch of material to bring. Haven't decided anything for sure on a string making clinic, but if there's even one person there who wants to learn I'll be glad to work with them.
Haven't quite decided if I'll be there Wednesday or Thursday. I'll have my wife with me this time, so I won't have to hear "Where's Betsy? Why didn't Betsy come? Why didn't you bring Betsy? Did Betsy finally up and leave you?" :bigsmyl:

See you in a few days, Chad.

The Classic Party starts today. . . PBR in my cooler right next to my scraper and tiller string.

I'll be heading out early in the morning for a fabulous week at Twin Oaks. Hope to meet some Trad Gangers there and looking forward to seeing old friends. Wishing safe travels to all going to the Tennessee Classic. See ya there.

Yes, the Holler had the most on Sat I have ever seen. Weather looks to hold gud. Betting on a record crowd, record self bow challenge. 21st in the 21st.
-
Looks like my plans have changed some. I won't make it until Thursday, and by myself. Wife has to work all week, I have to take a neighbor to a doc. appointment on Wed. Good news is I know I have a spot! Bringing a few extra string boards in case anyone wants to learn to make a string.
-
We see ya then Chad.

This great event is about to unfold.

Always a god time at Twin Oaks!
-
Enjoyed a wonderful day at the Classic.
Expecting another great one today...
-
Headed back down to Twin Oaks yesterday with the intention of losing many arrows. The forecast was in constant flux. The rain ended being unrelenting and didn't even remove my bow from the truck all day.
The general trad community huddled and many meandered thru the rain from shelter to shelter and from vendor to vendor.
The visiting, camaraderie as well as cultivating old friendships and making new ones provided a most rewarding and resplendent day. Would gladly endure the inclement again as the sunshine of the traditional could not be suppressed.
-
Excellent time, excellent turn-out in spite of the liquid sunshine. Always sad this time of year...means it's another year before we have the Classic again.
-
There were 570 archers that registered at the Classic.
-
I spent a fabulous week at Twin Oaks with lots of friends(old and new), lots of food and lots of shooting...arrows and bull.
The raffle table with lots of cool stuff brought a chunk of money to Twin Oaks to help with their expenses. The primitive knappers I made and donated brought the second highest amount next to Big Jim's bow.
A little rain has never bothered most that attend...it better not. I think it has rained at all but 1 year in the 21 years it's existence.
Great to see you again, Chad. Hope you got your truck fixed without problems.
-
Was a great time, lots of new faces this year with comments like "will not miss another".
The sat nite Potluck supper was outstanding! The line was very long but moved along at a quick pace.
The shoot course was superb. 40 targets of both small and large from Elk , Moose, Buff. Practice range had 31 targets with 5 elk. What more could you ask for.
One heck of a shoot!
-
...but now we have to wait another year for the next Tennessee Classic. I'm counting the days!
-
Truck was fixed in short order thanks to one of the club members. Just meant I got to hang out a while longer! If it had been up to my mechanic skills, I'd still be there! Always a great time, always great to see everyone again!
-
Glad to see you one last time before you left Chad.
-
See you at the HH, Chad.
Pappy and myself for sure will scoot down Friday. Come back to Tenn. Think i will go shoot Jamie and Goob’s place up Sunday afternoon.
