Because he probably won't do it himself and because more people need to read these books here is a link to Dave's new book web site.

Great books.
I definetly plan on getting the new one. Don't recall the name just the archer in the dark forest on the cover
It's called a Man Made of Elk, and I just finished reading it. It's a great read! Thanks,
Dave!

Just finished reading On the Wild Edge... highly recommend it! While I heartily agree with Dave on many, may things, the book does delve into some religion/ philosphy I don't agree with, but if I agreed with everything Dave said, I'd BE Dave, right? Great reads, great fella.
Mike
Daves the best thanks Brian
Mr. Petersen's books are a great read!
I'd check them all out!
I'm hoping after hunting season ends "Elkheart" is back in the outhouse writing another one.
He tells me Man Made Of Elk will probably be his last book, but I'm hoping for a change of heart.
Brian

i'm in the process of reading "on the wild edge".. so far it's a great read...
I especially liked "Ghost Grizzlys" since I met/knew Ernie Wilkerson and his wife. My first archery elk hunt in Colorado was in 1981 and Ed Wiseman's grizzly incident was still being talked about. Ed's guide camp was in Moffatt,CO just outside Crestone(Toneda Outfitters)- and Ernie's "Snowcaving,Taxidermy, and Outfitting" store was on Hwy. 160 going out of Monte Vista.I was solo backpack archery elk hunting in Creede,CO that first year and stopped in at Ernie's store on the way home. He had bulging photo albums of huge mulies, elk he had killed with his recurve back in the 60s. But he didn't show them to me,his wife did. Ernie seemed to be a humble and modest man and enjoyed talking more about the layman talk of taxidermy than anything. This combined with the areas of Colorado mentioned in the book(areas I have treked on) made the book that much more enjoyable for me. Thanks,Dave!!
I'd sure like to know where that little spring is with the ready made cedar seat...
