I have never attended an event like this, would this be a good first event?
Pretty much a beginner, just been shooting targets in the backyard off and on for the last decade or so, nothing to brag about.
-
In a word... Yes! It's cool to be around so many like minded people... Just think of what you can learn in a day by watching other archers shoot...

were the heck is Cos Cob, CT. Ha Ha ha! actually don't care because I miss the trad only shoots and this is close enough it will have to do..
is that Ben Baily in the Pic? sure looks like him anyway invite the local dealers too if you have any left I'd save up for these shoots so and go to those guys with a list of stuff I needed..
also for those with a really long trip is there any places to camp on or near the grounds or sleep in the truck the night before?

Hey Tajue17 - Here are a couple reasonable hotels in the area. Stamford CT is no more then a 15 minute drive to Cos Cob CT.
Crowne Plaza - Stamford CT

Some directions and info pulled from another poster:
Cos Cob is the middle of Greenwich - exit 4 or 5 from 95; 5 from the North. Exit 33 off of the Merritt/Hutch. If you’re coming up/across from NYC/NJ, it’s quicker to come up 95.
And if you have to cross the Hudson, it’s cheaper, easier and faster to check out the new Tappan Zee bridge, which is really impressive, except that they’ve renamed it the Cuomo; you can call it that if you want, but I’d expect a guy on his way to a “Trad-only” shoot would stick with the original name, given in recognition of the original tribe who lived there....
MetroNorth line, you can get off at either the Cos Cob or Greenwich stations.
Bring lots of arrows! Some of the shots back up to swampy areas and (this being New England) they pretty much all back up to rocks....
Looking forward to a great turn out!

can you shoot carbon arrows or just wood ?
-
Any arrow Joe

Got the date marked on my calendar. Can’t wait
-
I'll be there and I'll bring as much as I can for the swap blanket... I'll see if I can make up 5-10 dozen arrows too
-
We should be there!
-
Would be great to have you there Curt! Bring your GoPro Camera!

This is going to be a great shoot. mcgroundstalker is the organizer for the club. He's got some great targets set up: Running deer, Bunny buster, Turkey in a tree, Bear through a barrel. Most stakes are true hunting situations - in and around obstructions. You guys should really make this one! $20 bucks for non-members and the fee includes a hot lunch! Can beat that.
-
Planning on attending and bringing at least one friend.Should be fun !!! Cos Cobb Archers has been around for quite sometime I believe.
-
This sounds fun I am sure I will be there as well
-
Last bit of range work done yesterday. Now it's a waiting game until April 8th.......

I'll be coming with some fellow members of Suffolk Archers. We're going to miss our own 3D Turkey shoot and I'm sure I'll get some grief from the Board but since you guys come to our traditional shoot the least we could do is go to yours. Looking forward to it!

Hey just to point it out the zip code on the flyer is wrong. it should be 06807 I believe. I don’t want anyone to get screwed up if they are putting it into a gps.

OMG! Thank You Paul. :notworthy: How did we miss that one? :banghead:
