Tracey and I will be leaving next week Tuesday for a 3 day hunt at Wild Things. We will be the first hunters in camp since the sudden and unexpected passing of our dear friend Andrew. We have been wanting to do this since we met Andrew right after he took over the place. We instantly became friends as we visited at events and talked on the phone. We had planned on being there a year ago but just could not get away and at the last minute, had to cancel. We instantly started planning a date for this year. Looking forward to spending time with Andrew at the swamp.
Yes we are looking forward to being out of the shop for a few days, hunting in SC with some great friends. But will think about the the fact that Andrew is not there, and we missed our chance to be in his camp with him.
Remember life short and can be gone in the blink of an eye. Live your life to the fullest and count all your blessing each day, Hug your family daily and tell them that you love them daily. Never put off to tomorrow or next year what you can do today or this year.
Tracey's father and my best friend, told us this just before he lost his battle with cancer in 2009. He did not regret anything he did in his life what he did regret was the many things he wanted to do and never took the time to do.
On a business note we will not be shipping any orders either from St Joe River bows Or Thunderbird from the 9th- 14th any orders placed next week after Sunday the 7th will ship on the 15th upon our return home
Thank you to all our customers and we hope you all have a great 2018

Man I cannot wait to share camp with you guys down there. Very excited right now. We will be hunting with Andrew as he watches down on us and smiles. I feel blessed to be there with all of you guys.
-
I too wish you guys could have made it last year, as I selfishly would have loved to share that camp with you as well!
From where I sit there is nothing else to do but to move forward with the opportunities we still have ahead of us. I'll be down for my first hunt there in a few months myself, then cashing in points in two states in 2018. Like you say, living my life to it's fullest.
I talked with one of his children and Don yesterday. Sounds like everything in camp is coming together and I got the menu for your hunt and it sounded very good. I haven't talked to Charlie recently, but regional reports sound good (exceptional compared to last year) and second hand info from Charlie sounds like everything is on track.
I'll be in touch with you guys either just before or while you are in camp. If anyone needs to talk to Don please PM me and I will coordinate phone numbers, etc.
Good luck down there!
Thom

This years visit to Wild Things will be tough. I am so glad we can go back to say our proper goodbyes. And, of course, chase some pigs. :)

My hunt is the one after yours David...for certain it wont be the same without Andrew but I plan to make the best of it and I know I'll be thinking of him as I stalk through those woods. I've been down there a few times but this will be my first time doing 5 days. I wish you guys luck and hopefully you take a few...(and leave some for me and Val..lol)
Good Luck!

Thanks David...I look forward to reading about what I hope will be an awesome hunt for you guys!
-
Well said! Best of luck.
Looking forward to getting to SC in a few weeks.

Rob,
I hope you have great time down there. It is a hunt I would like to do some day. Please write up a good description of your experience.

Don't forget your long johns. It's been cold down south and 40 degs in a humid Savannah River swamp isn't the same as 40deg in low humidity.
-
Thank you everyone for the good luck wishes.
-
Good luck. Take a lot of photos. It is a wonderful place, and Andrew's friendship made it all the more so.
I used to go there two or three times a year, but this year my schedule only allows one trip.
Bittersweet is indeed the right word.

My buddy Doug and I were down there in September to do some promised(and previously arranged) work on the ice house. You can feel Andrew's presence there, watching over us.

Rick, or anyone....
Did the doctor office building ever get moved? I know Andrew had big plans for it.
-
When we were down there it was still in Estill. Haven't heard if it's been moved to the property since then, or if there are any plans to do anything with it at this point.
