Well its been a long time in the process but here it finally is , the Raptor Talon.
Verticle grain bamboo sandwiched between two pieces of bamboo with nodes intact.Handle is inlayed between the sandwich with matching tip inlays. Fast flight fine. At present only available in a 64" version. Also available with a yew core.
This has been my side project for the past two years and I am very pleased with the bow. Smooth quiet and best of all quick.
Total weight of the bow is less than a pound, including string and leather handle. You guys and girls at Trad Gang are the first outside the store. to see it . (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m263/raptorarchery/talon1.jpg)

Ya done good sir!
That little stick is SWEET!
purdy purdy purdy
Just curious how you tiller a double noded bow? Width? Or by using regular tapered lams like in a glass bow? then tiller by width? Someday I'll build......soon I hope
Good lines dude, I like

Gorgeous lines Ted, hope to give it a try the next time I see ya!
Sorry , working on getting them on the web site, should be there sometime today , for now you just have to call and talk with me.
Any chance of a full draw pic? Real sweet lines on that one.
I had a few questions regarding construction so I wanted to clear this up . No glass, bamboo center core with bamboo on both the belly and back with nodes intact on both sides as well.
The handle is in the middle and tip inlays to match.
I will work on getting a full draw pic loaded.
Here is a good one of the bow at full draw (http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m263/raptorarchery/talondraw.jpg)
Gorgeous bow...it has the same lines as one of my favorite bows....except mine was made out of osage and sinew.
Awesome job!

Cody , why of course we get our bamboo from Raptor Archery, the glue we use is a two part epoxy that is waterproof called West systems, I learned of this epoxy from building and repairing boats. It is designed to hold up even under the water line, best epoxy I have found yet.
Watch it Bow doc, you looked in the mirror lately brother? John , Happy to help you and Mel out with a tester, would you like that to be Master Card or Visa?
I will have a couple of these bows to shoot for our hunt with 7th age bowhunts in Texas the first of January so guys can try them out . I do have a buddy testing one in IL as we speak , he invited me along as well but allas, just the bow wound up going.
Tommy , yes I will bring one along for Bear Quest 2008, gotta get busy on the takedown version. Thanks for the support guys!
