Perhaps a silly question but I keep getting my hand scuffed by arrows fletching and it is starting to hurt, not to mention it causes crappy arrow flight. Bare shafts shoot fine, once I put the feathers on problems start.
So my question is, what causes this problem? I have tried vary the nock position to shoot through the gap but that didn't really help. I don't think it is feather height as I get scuffed by both parabolic and banana style fletching. Any suggestions?
thanks,
Tom.
Make sure the feather doesn't have a sharp edge on the front end. I just use a razor blade to smooth it out, then a dab of duco cement. Once the duco is almost cured, I flatten the dab out with a flat screwdriver. No more cuts/scuffs.
rotate the nock until the feather clears...nock set heigth can affect 'contact' too...
