I thought I had a fool proof plan to get a shot at a Hog this weekend. I Hauled 900 gallons of water to a dried up wallow. I figure as dry as it was I would have every pig on the place coming to visit. The pigs did show up. They pretty much stayed all night and were there when I showed up the next morning. What I didn't plan on was how many deer it would draw. I was covered up with them. after about a hour I couldn't stand it anymore and decided I needed to do a test run with the new broad heads. When a doe turned just right I smacked her and watched her run about 40 yards before piling up. It was not 5 minutes before the others were back and you will see them walking around on top of the bloody arrow. I am now down to one tag left that I can use at the BAO.

Great video work! I really enjoyed it. Those broadheads are wicked looking, I might have to try some. 1 7/8", thats a meat cleaver.
I love my silverflames. Sharp as heck and fly great. What grain is that one?
Buff another great video, what do you us to hold your camera? It would be great to see a picture of you set up. Thanks for sharing Glenn
I use a tri pod. from the ground I use it as you would expect. From a tree I tape it to the stand or a limb
Better music this time Buff, nice shot !
Excellent video.... :notworthy: :archer:
I just figured out how to view it..That was super Buff...That video was done outstanding. What kind of camera you using? BTW, you probably know this or him but that 1 7/8" GK head was made for a Texan I think? I just bought some left overs..I have shot one doe with mine within 10 yards....keep it coming..
Buff,
What is the weight on the broadhead? I have some Silverflames but have not seen or heard about the one you just tested. Where did you get it?
Thanks, Louis
Stunning footage Buff. Very professional camerawork & editing. A pretty good lesson in shot placement too!
The new Silver Flame looks spectacular (If a little Art-Deco :D )
Great great video
Great video, great shot......but tell me more about them broadheads. I have some 125 grn., but those look wicked. What's the weight, and where can we get 'em ? thanks....

Buff, how you get so good editing with that camera? man thats some great stuff..any advice? I'm starting from scratch.....thanks
Buff, you going to bring those back to Africa with you ? I enjoyed the ride to and from camp with you, wish we could have stayed in the same camp. Don't let Joebuck fool you, his wife is a model, he knows how to take pictures.

Kurt
These G.K. broadheads are based on the Goshawk broadheads of the 50s and 60s. tradgangs own Falk had something to do with their been made. Maybe he will chime in and tell us the whole story.
Great video and an almost perfect shot Buff.
I first read about them here on Trad Gang. I shoot a heavy bow and had been using the 1-9/16" Zephyr heads. When I saw a picture of the super sized GK heads... I just had to have some.
Now thats what I like to see!!! That was some awesome footage. Nice work.
Another awesome video and shot, well done Buff!!! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
Absolutely beautiful (both the wound and the broadhead)...
I got to try these!
In some states I thought it was illegal to use heads wider than 1.5". I believe that is the case here in NH....what about other states?

Out of curiosity, I checked Virginia, Maryland, New Hampshire, and Texas.
All four states require broadheads with a minimum width of 7/8 inches.
VA, MD, & TX's regulations do not mention any maximum size.
NH regulations do specify a maximum width of 1 1/2 inches.
Buff, your videos are always awesome! Thanks for sharing.
I really enjoyed the video, especially the six pointer checking the does. Congrats and thanks for sharing.
awesome video, great editing job.
Those heads look neat.
But boy that head really turned at impact. I'd be concerned shooting these with a regular weight bow on anything bigger then whitetail, theys BIG ;) . Really has my motors working why it turned like that though. On impact, notice the feathers kick high and slightly right, pointing the head down to the ground. That arrow is turnd just a fraction before she dropped. Put it in slow mo when it goes into slow mo on the vid and you'll see what I mean.....definatly interesting.
