Hi all, thought I'd share something that was quite interesting.
Shot this medium sized Billie today with an El Grande broadside from 20ish metres.
That is the foreleg bone completely severed from the shot.
65# longbow, cx Heritage 250 shaft with around 400 grain up front.

I agree heavy arrows and solid well built heads will do things unimaginable
Impressive!
Gotta love those Grizzly heads. Nice shot too.
Good job, nice shot. That's why I use them too.
Grizzly has not let me down in over twenty years. Congrats on goat.
Congrats on your goat, and no doubt that's a good head, but I believe a lot of different heads would have done that same thing on a critter that size off a 65# bow!
Bisch
Very nice, great shooting, congratulations

Thanks and you're right. I've never used anything else on game so have no comparison.
This is not necessarily an advert for Grizzlies, more an observation on the sometimes shocking lethality of the bow and arrow.

Cheers. Yes, this particular head I've had for more than 5 years and it's still going strong. Though it's a bit skinny now.
Very nice!
Congrats on your goat.
What do you think would have happened with a Rage head? I think the animal would have escaped wounded. You did a great job on the equipment selection and a great shot. That's some picture of that leg bone!
Congratulations on your lill...if I'm not mistaken that's an angora just like a my avatar and it brings back memories.
:campfire:
Congrats!

I believe so. I have his pelt in the freezer ready for some tanning action.
Was your hunt in Australia too?

Yep. Unbelievable what a stick and string can do.
My hunt was near Pecos Texas.
