And a great friend to many....
I will hold off for the time being out of respect for the family and the only reason I'm making this post is to hopefully keep anyone else from posting until the time is appropriate
Thank you for understanding

I cannot express how sad I am to say that Andrew Harper of Wild Things passed unexpectedly last weekend.
At the request of the family this has been kept quiet in order to notify family and friends far and wide. The obituary (http://www.peeplesrhodenfuneralhome.com/obituary/andrew-barnard-harper) has been posted as of today.
There will be more information available about the future of Wild Things in a few weeks as the family has quite a bit on their plate currently. Your patience would be greatly appreciated.
I am happy to remain an electronic point of contact, but I ask you to use email instead of PMs if possible. [email protected]

Rest in peace my friend.

Rest in Peace Andrew. You had a positive impact on so many in the traditional bowhunting community. I am so very proud to call you my friend. Look forward to seeing you again on the other side. Rest easy until then "buddy roe".

I only conversed with him by email after posting about hog hunting on Trad Gang. Hunted his property when it was Hog Heaven and know he had a very special place there.
Was planning on a return trip and was looking forward to talking with him about hogs. Seemed like a very nice guy and it is so sad to get this news. Prayers sent to his family and friends.

A hollowness never to be filled. Andrew will be sorely missed.

Our Brother comes to you, as swift and straight, as an arrow shot into the Sun. Welcome him to his place at the Eternal Campfire. We will see him again.

A great guy and a wonderful friend to so many. He openly shared his faith in Jesus with everyone he met and stored up his treasures in heaven. God Bless you friend; I will miss you.

Sorry to hear this. I never met Andrew but knew and lived down the street from his brother Styles for 12 years in Bluffton, SC.
-
He was a dear dear friend. Every time I've left Wild Things we parted with a big hug and a tear in the eye, knowing it would be a whole year until we met again.
I know he knew the Lord as his personal savior. His faith was obvious to all who knew him. I am happy that he is in paradise but sad at the same time. I pray for his loved ones.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of Andrew. I got a chance to talk to him a few times on the phone. Seemed to be one heck of a nice guy. Was really looking forward to getting to hunt pigs with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

What a loss. I can honestly say Andrew Harper is the best man i have ever met.. a true southern gentleman only scratches the surface . I'm going to miss all the deep conversations and bouts of uncontrolled laughter on the porch of his property. My thoughts and prayers go out Stiles and Charlie.. and everyone that truely had the pleasure of knowing him.

A lot of us that knew Andrew feel exactly the same way. You wanted to be a better person just from knowing him.
-
Andrew was a man that not only let you into his home but into his heart. A hand shake and look into his eyes you knew he was the true meaning of a friend. The hunting stories over a cold I.P.A. late at night while scratching Harry's head will truly be missed.
Andrew was a great man to all and it was an honor to know him. Prayers to all his family.

 So sorry to hear of the loss of a fine gentleman.
-
I was only able to meet Andrew once years ago and he was nothing short of an outstanding gentleman. Although we'd never met prior to my hunting at Hog Heaven he treated me and all others around with great generosity and as though they were old friends. Most, if not all I hunted with returned regularly to hunt with Andrew at Wild Things and formed lasting friendships with Andrew, and it's easy to see why. I'm sorry for the loss of a great person who has left such a positive impact on those he encountered in life.

What a loss to our community, to those his life has touched and those who never had the pleasure of meeting him.
I, my brother and father fortunately/unfortunately had the chance to share a dinner table for a few wonderful days on his beloved wild things. In that short period of time Andrew became a friend, though I don't feel that word does him justice.
Andrew had a way of making you wanna be a better person in his presence and life in general. He had a warmth and kindness about him that was unmatched by most and rivaled by fewer. He genuinely cared about YOUR Life and YOUR family and would swoon over pictures and storys of your children, would show true interest in your profession and share himself with you in any way he could.
I'm deeply sadden by the loss of his life. I was in hopes to share many more dinner tables with this wonderful man. I hoped he would meet my kids in the future and share himself with them.
I will charish my short time with him as I hope all of you that knew him will.
I hope his family knows just how many lives he
touched over his many years. I/we should thank them for sharing him with US.
Thank you Andrew you will be missed

Had many conversations with Andrew, and was happy to help him with his Booth at the last PBS banquet when he could not make it. He was a good man and as soon as you met him he treated you like a life long friend. I regret I never got to hunt with him at wild things. The trip there was planned for this January. Prayers to his family
He was way to young to be gone. Life is short and you never know when your time will come don't leave your dreams unfulfilled . Don't have regrets of what you should have done.
-
Andrew was one of the great ones. Indeed, we lost a good one.
-
I didn't know Andrew, but have heard nothing but good things about him and his operation... had hoped to experience a hunt there with my son in the near future - again, thoughts & prayers to his family. Rest in peace.

Sincerest Condolences to family and friends....

I can agree, attest, and echo what many have said here.....
He called me twice in the last month just to check on me and to see how I was doing....
Tradgang has brought me many friendships that I would have never had ...people that would influence my life that never would have been....
Andrew Harper was one of them...
-
My sincere prayers for his family and all of his friends. Heaven is going to be such an interesting place and I have many friends and loved ones there that I want to see. I am sure that my Brother Andrew will be one of them.
God bless you all, Steve
