Title: Draw weight and Draw Length Question
Post by: kawika b on November 03, 2007, 01:05:00 AM
Two bows of equal poundage but at different tillered draw lengths will shoot at the same speed right? It's just that the bow with the shorter power stroke will lose it's momentum sooner,,, right?

something sounds off, lol. to compensate for a shorter draw you need to add 3# to the draw weight rated for its IBO (i think that's what its called) rated speed for every inch under the rated draw length,,, but you'll lose speed quicker,,, or something like that, lol.

The arrow from the bow with the longer power stroke will have a higher intial velocity; rate of deceleration will be a constant, all else being equal....at least for all practical purposes....ain't no physicist, though
