Title: Advice on a Bow
Post by: Ollie on November 02, 2007, 04:23:00 PM
Hello all. I am new here and I just want to ask for some info on a few bows that I have been thinking about. The RER 54" arroyo, the Bob Lee 54" hunter, and the Bear 52" K-Mag. Right now all I have shot is a 58" Bingham TD recurve that I made for my brother in law and a 64" RD longbow that I made for myself and have been hunting with the past 3 years. I would like opinions on these bows and is there one that really shines? I draw about 27" and cant my bow when I shoot. Thank you, and this forum is great.

Hi Ollie
Welcome to TG,thats a big spread of prices, also what poundage to you want to shoot?I am partial to Bears, but as soon as I say that, you will hear from other archers who love their "brand" bows, keep networking here until you shoot all three, thats the fun, finding the one w/ mojo for you.

I think for "bang for the buck" the Bear is the way to go. Bear bows are silky smooth and quick as well. And I think Martin makes a fabulous recurved bow.

Might not be what you want to hear but you really need to shoot them all a lot before you will know.Best thing I can tell you is to keep putting money back and go to some 3D shoots in the spring where you can try lots of bows including the ones you like now.
