Title: What are these bows worth?
Post by: casjoker on November 02, 2007, 12:54:00 PM
Yes, I know without pictures it is hard to put an exact amount on them but a ball park figure is all I am looking for.

1.  PSE Coyote 60" 55lbs.  Bow is in very good shape with hardly a mark on it.  Everything is straight and shoots well.  nap style plunger rest (new $40 and a cheap quiver)

2.1953 Bear Bearcat 60" 45 lbs serial #KM21353.  Bow is in excellent shape and has very little wear on it.  I was told by one person that this was potentially a collectors item and I shouldn't shoot it for fear of damaging it.  I did shoot a few arrows off it (just becasue I couldn't help myself) and it shoots very well.  He estimated the value between $175 -250.  Can I look up the serial # and find out any history like who made it, bought it etc...I It says Grayling, Michigan but has 1953 Canada under that so I don't even know where it was made.

Browning Wasp 56" 54lbs serial #27251.  Bow has the usual wear for a hunting bow (few scratches here and there).  I have shot this bow for six months and it shoots well.

I am thinking about keeping the Coyote because it is fast and a take down.

Depending on the history of the Bear I might keep it i.e. no history highest bidder, cool history over the mantle it goes for the stories.

Thanks for the  :help:

I don't know about the others, but I purchased a Wasp that is the same as yours, ony its a 50 pounder for 75 bucks on the bay a few years back.

Not sure, but I would try to keep the takedown if you can or don't have another.

Never know when the need for one might arise.

I am thinking that I will keep the takedown.  I travel from Maine to TN a lot and my brother lives in Alaska so I see the need for it.  I checked **** and it looks like $80-100 for the Wasp and around $150 for the Coyote.  No luck on the Bearcat finding a value.

casjoker-sounds about right for the Wasp.

If its the model I'm thinking it is,the Bearcat with the "K" serial # is a mid 70's bow. without seeing it, and depending on the condition, I'd say $75-$125 generously. If it is in good shape, shoot the SNOT out of it. They are great, durable bows. Great for hunting, 3D, or rendevous'.

Not sure on the Coyote, too new for me to know.

Might I suggest, if you are going to sell, post it up here (in the classified section) instead of the auction site. I'm sure folks here would like to "keep them in the family"

The Bear is early 70's and I would not worry about hurting it. That bow is as bombproof as any, good shooting bow not any particular collector value but better user value. My guess is 125.00 would be a fair price. Keep it and enjoy it.
