Title: Morrison Cheyenne vs Shawnee
Post by: Jim Jackson on November 02, 2007, 09:01:00 AM
Morrison has quite a following on this board. Interested in hearing from those who have shot both of his recurves.  I haven't been able to shoot either.  I may try to save up and order one, and am interested in hearing about the different takedown models.  I would love to hear comparison/contrast for both. Thanks.

I own a Morrison Cheyenne and have shot a Shawnee at a few shows.  They both shoot great!!  The only thing the Shawnee gives you that the Cheyenne does not is you can get both recurve and longbow limbs for it.  Other than that I think they both shoot and feel the same.

They are both very nice.  The Cheyenne riser is quite a bit bigger, so it seems a little more stable to me.  They are both fast, and quiet.  The Cheyenne limbs seem to have a little less preload, maybe a bit smoother.  I like them both, but the Cheyenne is my favorite.

Bob does have limbs, etc. in stock that you can try for a week or so.  That will probably give you the best idea of how they shoot.

I own both bows, love um .  What MRD said is right, but I do my hunting with my shawnee.  Might have a thing to do with my custom grip on the shawnee.
