I have bought some leather and want to attempt to make a leather side quiver like the one on page 28 in THREE RIVERS CATALOG.
If someone has one I'd like some measurement please. Total length,
broad head cup depth. Also, if you have used one do you think the top strap location is in the right place?
Seems to me it would be better on the top instead of the back. Have invested in the leather already and don't want to cut things wrong.
Thanks for any opinions.
Before I ever tried a new quiver design I would first make a model from heavy paper and tape. The paper then becomes the pattern. Punching holes and lacing requires some thought as well. I didn't want to start cutting leather until I was sure.
I dont have the catalog handy, but check to how to and build along forums here. There are some quiver instructions there.
Ive used scrap linoleum for a practice run before.
I make a pattern first also.
What quiver is it? I don't have a 3Rivers catalog handy.

It is the latigo side quiver.
A lot like the one at Rapture Archery.
Found a build a long forum.
Also had a gentleman on another web site send me a picture of how he built his. Probably go that route.
Thanks for the reply.
If it is like the Side Stalker I like to use a tapered wood plug for the end with closed cell foam glued to it for broadheads. The plug is a piece on 1x softwood lumber cut in a 3"-4" circle and tapered by hand on a belt sander. I like using it because I can push it back out to allow any debris to be removed plus I like the foam inside to protect the broadheads and help keep the arrows quiet.
