So what's on your Bow bucket list?
Sweet looking bow, congratulations.
The name of Dave Guthrie's bows, and the region they came from, is "Appalachian". Just FYI. :)
Love those lines on the silver tip
WOW! Those Blacktails bows are so gorgeous! The Silvertip is also quite the beauty.
I don't have a "bucket list" bow as yet, though the Blacktails certainly have amazing aesthetics and i'm sure are also wonderful shooters.
I hope to one day own, in no particular order (except the Dryad Orion!!!):
1) Dryad (an Orion will be my 1st "custom")
2) a Schafer/Dave Windauer Silvertip take down
3) a Kota TFX TD recurve
4) maybe a Blacktail
Very nice bows. I like blacktails a lot. But my predator is one of my favorite as far as performance so I'd like to get another lol. As far as bows on my list I'd say #1 a 64" 1967-1/2 super kodiak to go with my 60".
2- a 1961 kodiak
3- predator velocity
That's all I can think off right off hand. I already have to many myself. (According to my wife)
I think I have pretty much ran through my bucket list.....maybe a couple times!
Let me think.....
Widows....many
Silvertips...several, one still in the stable
Morrison....a couple
Blacktail...a couple
DAS....a few
A&H ACS....a few
Habu...in the stable
I'm sure I'm forgetting a few......old age I suppose! :banghead:
I have some of my bucket bows, have another on order, and am contemplating another. There may be more that I don't know should be on the list.
Had:
Bob Lee t/d
Have:
2 Blacktail t/d recurves
Treadway Black Swamp
On order:
Treadway Black Forest
Maybe a Blacktail longbow
I would like to find a left handed Savage River bow. I heard a rumor recently that Dave Guthrie may get back into the bow making business. Just a rumor at this point but I would like to see that. Dave left a good job as a skilled welder with a big aluminum plant in the area when he went into the bow business full time. After a few years they asked him to come talk to them about coming back. He told them how much it would take to come back figuring they wouldn't go for it but they did. A regular pay check and good benefits were too good to turn down. He was very generous to give bows to a lot of state bowhunting organizations for fund raising purposes. Hope he does come back.
My list isn't big to start with.
Whippenstick, Toelke, predator, jd berry, tt titan, northern mist (which I just received and couldn't be happier). Got them and some I still have.
I still have one unchecked on my short list which is a pair of border ilf limbs but I can totally see myself getting a pair next year.
Nice bows! And congrats on getting/making the opportunities to achieve those goals.
I definitely have a few that I want to try before it's too late...(in no particular order)
3pc. TimberGhost Hybrid
Big Jim bow (either a Thunderchild or Buffalo)
Centaur
a bow designed and/or built by Byron Ferguson (I know he's done a few different bows made by a few different bowyers/manufacturers, and any would do)
a bow made by Randy "Crittergitter" Madden
Toelke Pika, Whip or Longbow Lynx
Shrew
Javaman
I'm sure that there a few more, but I can't think of them right now.
My bucket is full of Sarrels Blueridge longbows!!!!
Bisch
Might have to add the Toelke Whip to my list, that is a nice looking longbow.
lots Id love to have but wont be able to afford any soon. would love to have a chinook from Toelke and an Acadian Woods from Tim.
Nice collection.
I owned that stalker... Can't remember if you sold it to me or I sold it to you... Either way it's the stalker I cut my teeth on. And we definately had the transaction.
I just acquired 2 Toele Super D's they are bucket listers but not in the woods I have them in. And when south gets settled. I'll get a stalker Coyote
Only a lefty, 66ish under 42@29 t/d Blacktail remains...

And they are soooo deadly...At least in your hands. Pretty too.
Like a lot of Lefties, I have owned a bunch that started out on my "bucket list"...some I still own, some just weren't right for me....if I saw one on the classifieds for a fair price, I would buy them and shoot them a while since most of the guys at shoots and gatherings were right handed...
Currently (bows that were on the list and I finally got) -
Acadian Woods Treestick
Sarrels Blackhills longbow
Pronghorn T/D longbow
Black Widow SA
7 Lakes Longbow blank that I finished (thanks Bob for all the advice and help with that so many years ago!)
Several old Bears that I enjoy still...
Have owned (wish I had a lot of them back)-
Shrew 52" Classic Hunter - sold it back to original owner...wish I would of kept it...
Blacktail recurve
Wes Wallace Mentor
Centaur - had several over the years
RER recurve
Habu Recurve - REALLY WISH I HAD THIS ONE BACK!!
Acadian Woods T/D recurve
And dozens of others that weren't necessarily on my "bucket list" but was able to get them to try out...
My bucket list has a hole in it .
Mighty purdy!
I'm done buying bows. I have a one piece and a takedown for travel. Who needs more?
