Title: broadhead
Post by: rkelly on April 13, 2017, 07:30:00 PM
Used to be a broadhead called Hunter's broad head.
Was a fairly long narrow head like a grizzly.
Don't believe they are made any more.
Does anyone have any that are laying around and you are not using?

Richard,
The original Hunters Head will be tough to find. 3 Rivers carries one being made now in 145 gr. I still have some of the originals but will likely hang on to them.

3Rivers has / sells them now.  I don't know of the availability, but I just received a six pack earlier in this week.

My initial assessment is that they are good heads.  They are not likely to be the sturdiest head out there but really, I am hunting deer, not concrete.

Initial passes with a file tell me the steel used in their construct will likely sharpen up nice.  The layout looks to be easier to sharpen than Hill heads ( ferrule is not in the way, mostly).

From the nostalgia standpoint... they look pretty neat.  Hope to kill a deer with one this fall.  Maybe a turkey this spring, who knows.
