Title: Adding decals to timber arrows anyone..?
Post by: Al Kidner on April 07, 2017, 01:50:00 AM
G'day guys,

Well for a while now I've simple hand written either something in Latin or such to the cresting of my arrows. Granted I've neat hand writing and I think it adds a more personal touch as such in my opinion.

Of late though I've wanted to step up the game by adding a decal instead of hand writing it. Has anyone here done so and if yes, please lend me your knowledge... I'm all ears.

Yours in professional looking, swift flying, custom made killin sticks !

Search the internet for "Custom made decals".
Get water slide decals and put a good tough protective clearcoat over everything.

.........or consider having a rubber stamp made.
I did this at one time in the past and it worked pretty nice. Can only do one color well however.

Hey Al,
Is this the type of thing you're looking for?

I made these decals myself, and it's real easy. You want clear water slide decal paper. There are two types, inkjet and laser. You have to be specific, ie match the paper to your type of printer. Type whatever you want, then a couple of fine coats of sealer. I'd recommend using the same sealer as you are using on your arrows.
Then apply like you would any wateslide decal! And once dry, give a final sealing coat of decal and shaft.

Good luck!
