I got out yesterday, and had a nice little outing. We had a nice cool front come in,and the weather was great.
I was out walking around, and something startled me. It was a big field rat,and I could see his hind end sticking out of his nest. I made a good shot, but could still see him trying to move, and didn't want him to pull his self off the arrow and get away. I didn't know the arrow was through him and stuck in the ground, and went around and shot him in the head.

That's good shooting at a small target! One thing I really don't care for is to be startled like it sounds you were. Pheasants get me every time!
You said it Blaine! There's rattle snakes everywhere out there even though I haven't seen any my buddy has killed quite a few. I know they don't make as much noise as this guy did,but it still made me jump straight up in the air!
Nicely done. Don't know why, but rats just give me the creeps. One less of the buggers is a good thing to me!
Looks like a good use for them cridders .
Dang good shooting right there!!
Nice shot
Way to go, Rick! I hated it when those suckers would hole up in my ground blinds! What a mess!!!!!
Congrats,
