My son and I hunted our south Georgia hog lease last week. We were surprised to meet another member...David Waldrop. Great guy. I was hunting my Waldrop chair for pigs as I stalk & sit being 71 years old. I got to compare my older version with his new version. The only difference is the front legs are 1 1/2" longer and the seat is raised 1 1/2". Big difference in the front edge hitting your hamstring area...much more comfortable. He has new chairs and kits to adapt the older chair...tippit

IMHO the Waldrop Pac Seat is the best hunting seat out there. I have mine for about 5 years and love it. Best dang seat ever.
Yep great seat. Used mine last week turkey hunting. I like the stalk and sit idea. :)
Two of my favorite dudes. Been enjoying my pac seat this turkey season so much I think I'm going to deer hunt out of it this season.

Rigged for a day in the turkey woods. The hip belt is one of my favorite features. It carries like a pack frame with no weight on your shoulders even if you load up.
Julian,
After talking with David and his deer hunting on the ground, I'm going to do it too this year. Need to get together before we head back north. We'll be in Aiken another 6 weeks before my cochlear implant surgery the end of May.
Got mine a few days ago. Enjoyed talking with David. Seat is great! And I see good times ahead with it.
I'd been around those seats for years but never really got em until talking with David. He is a ground hunter and designed that seat from the ground!
Jeff, have your people call my people. Soon!
Where do you get them, does he have a website?
How do I go about ordering the pieces to update my older model?
Thanks!
God bless,Mudd
Great post Jeff. Ive been going to give that man a call a get a chair after using the cheap seats for some time now. Thanks for the reminder :)
:campfire:
These seats are all aircraft aluminum so they don't bend. He has a couple other things up his sleeve that he is working on too.
David doesn't do web sites just call him...but I'm not sure I'm allowed to post his phone #.
PM me...tippit
OH we didn't just sit around talking all the time. My son shot a couple pigs. I'm having a harder time spot & stalking as I don't hear the pigs...but the lease is just beautiful (four thousand acres of Cypress swamp, hardwoods, pine, palmettos, all on a major river with gators to entertain you!)

My Pack Seat. Notice the leather loop on bow riser to allow me to slip in my red Sniper Hog Light at dark...

Looks good; I need one of those seats as I would like less tree hunting and more ground hunting. Glad that you found a good hunting lease.
Awsome, I love my Pac Seat!!!
Glad you got Zach down there and he brought home the bacon.
I like the additional height on the new model. How does the adapter kit work for the old ones? Did you convert yours?
I found two different numbers for David and neither one worked.
Please help!
Thank you!
God bless,Mudd
Whip,
Zach loved it down there. I think he explored the entire property...young legs. He didn't want to come back to Aiken...but Mom prevailed :)
To change the seat...the leg height adaptor is an inner and outer sleeve. Just cut the rubber cap off, slide in place, and glue on. To lower the seat, drill out rivets, drop seat 1 1/2 inch, and re-rivet. It's amazing how much more comfortable the seat is especially on your hamstring area that hangs over the seat.
Mudd...sent you a PM
Cool pocs! LOVE MY PACSEAT! When I take it to soccer games with the daughter I get funny looks and I let folks sit in it and they are amazed how comfy it is.
J
The Pacseat is fantastic! I've had my two for a few years. My have to try the mod or maybe I'll just by another one! :0)
David has a few new items he is thinking of adding to the seat. I'm not at liberty to divulge what they might be...but if you are a Turkey hunter or Hog hunter you will definitely like these!
I can't tell you how much fun I had talking & hunting with David...a real Southern Gentleman!
Hello Jeff ,i tried to send you a p.m. for the phone number for david ,,but the computer wouldn't let me send it???? Thanks gib
This thread made me homesick for the Paradise and old friends! especially those 2!
Joey,
At 71, I feel like a kid in the candy store being a new member at the Paradise!
Gib sent you a PM

Jeff, is this right, or do you mean RAISE the seat by 1 1/2 inches to match the extra length you just added to the front legs?
I am just getting ready to do this, and wondered if I am thinking incorrectly.
Also, I was planning to drill out the two old rivets, and reuse one of the two holes (top one?) as I re-position my bracket. This will give me just over an inch change rather than the full 1 1/2 like the front legs, but require only one new hole in the frame. Figured that was good from both a strength and accuracy standpoint. Thoughts, anyone?
You know if you guys were short like me you wouldn't have to worry about all these changes. The seat is the perfect height. :D
Daryl,
I did say raised in my original explanation...but you better call David first being my hearing is so poor. PM'd you his phone # incase you don't have it...Jeff
I see this as a perfect 'how to' to add to the forum here if someone get's with David and takes photo's. I've got a new version (based on the pictures Tippit posted) and have used it for the last few years. It's an incredible seat and well worth the money.
Ray,
David doesn't do computer stuff but he will answer phone or text. That's why I tried to post a few pictures of the difference between his new & older versions of the Pac Seat. If you order the conversion kit, he'll explain how to do it or if you are mechanically challenged, you can ship the chair to him. Be sure to clear it with him first.
I love ground hunting and this chair looks really interesting. Some of the chairs out there sound comfortable but when I hear how much they weigh I figure I might as well lug in a treestand! I've been doing some poking around and everyone is saying this chair is light but how much does one actually weigh? Thanks!!
Can someone pm me a number to call to order these seats? Thanks for the help... Greg
Ditto
I need the number also.
Thanks
Well since the moderators haven't shut this down and I've gotten so many PM requests for David's number, I'll list David's number. If this is inappropriate, then I apologize and understand if this is topic is closed...tippit

Tippit, I don't need the conversion for my seat (newer), I just thought someone who was going through converting theirs could do a nice how-to that would be of interest to Tradgang members and put it in the How-to forum.
I love my seat just the way it is.
what do those go for by the way. Thanks, Mike
