I used to bow fish almost every night during the spring and summer months .
That has been several many years ago .
I sure do miss those days .
With the spring weather starting to really get going , it's got me thinking about bow fishing .
I doubt I could still even be able to do it anymore .
So how about sharing your bow fishing pictures with this old fart gimp ?
Thanks ; Graps :bigsmyl:

Bowfishing is a blast!
Bisch
Seeing those gars reminds me of when I was just getting started bow fishing .
My mom had taken a picture of me with for large carp .
My aunt that lived in South Carolina was visiting us in Michigan .
Now her one son that was a couple years older than me was an archer as well .
I thought I would show her the picture of my proud moment .......
She hauled a picture of my cousin out of her purse .....
He had just recently taken a seven foot alligator gar with bow and arrow .
Well that kinda burst my bubble . :knothead:

Richard, that paddlefish is way cool! I have never even seen one of those in person.
Bisch
I don't know how to post pics, but I have a few of some 75-100# stingrays
Bisch, it was a rare opportunity where I shoot fish. They are neat fish and are pretty good to eat. >>->
My bucket bow fishing list is a big gator gar like you shot. LOL
Lovin' these pictures , keep 'em comin' .

Looks kinda fun!
Wow , just remembered how the smaller gar would be right on the surface and when I'd shoot I could hear a loud crack and the arrow would be about 10 feet past them and the gar spinning making a tangled mess of the string .
Man , I miss that .
The good old days .....

Clint those sharks are awesome. what bow are you shooting?
What do people do with all those fish?
Sharks!!! That is awesome!!
I went last year for the first time in 20 years. Took my Osage self bow, wood arrow with a stone point and shot a dog fish. Figured that was enough so I went home. Carp were rolling all over the place. I a mailed in a photo to the Michigan Bow Hunters and they printed it in the news letter AND decided to add a Primitive class in bow fishing in their contest.
I would post a photo if I knew how to do that.
Southern stingray from eastern NC. If I remember right this one was about 90 lbs.

Alright, I've got to order one of these kits! Thinking about going this route, anyone have insight on this?
Plan on shooting it with my 40# Samick Sage.

X2 most of those carp are junk fish that need to be cleared out but still curious.
Great thread. I've always wanted to do it, but never have. Looks like a blast.
Chunked up carp makes great channel cat bait.
that is a crazy looking fish in the last pic Bisch!

The PSE Kingfisher kit is hard to beat. You can beat those bows around and the still work great.
Made a bow fishing trip with a friend last weekend and I was fortunate to stick a nice gar and a bull red fish.

Thank you for the recommendation! I believe I am going to just follow Clay Hayes's DIY bow fishing kit with the can of beans and hacksaw blade. I suppose nothing fancy will get the job done, it's a matter of going and trying.
You guys shooting off the shelf with your trad gear.
Off the shelf , absolutely , the only way to go .
