I'm looking to buy a new bear takedown. Wanting an A handle with #1 limbs for hunting and a set of #3s in a lighter weight for 3D and everyday shooting. I've always wanted one and now have the funds to afford one. My questions are as follows...are the grips of the new risers comparable to other bear models like a grizzly or super kodiak? Can I use a big Jim strap on quiver or are the brackets too big to fit around? Thanks in advance
I'd get one in your hands. I have a lot of bear bows and no 2 grips are the same. Each one a little different.
Agree withcrazyn. That being said, an A riser will generally have a bit slimmer grip area than a grizzly, probably more similar to a super k. A Big Jim strap on quiver will work.
What's your draw length? A short bow can get a bit finger pinchy if you have a long draw length, not to mention stack.
I draw a hair over 29 3 under I don't see it being an issue
I have 2 newer Bear TDs the grips on the two are noticeably different, both shoot great but the grips are different.
These bows have threaded inserts for a quiver. I much prefer a bolted on quiver to the strap on ones. Unless you already have a quiver you want to use you may want to consider a bolt on.

Yes, the grips do vary because they are individually shaped by hand and each craftsman will like a bit different feel. I haven't felt a bad one. :D
