Hi does anyone shoot a Centaur ? I am looking at ordering a Dark matter triple carbon. Would like to hear opinions about them good and bad. It's either this or a new Silvertip. Pictures would be awsome.

IMHO one of the ultimate hunting r/d longbows made. Top of the mountain. The Dark Matter material is super strong and offers superb mass superior to any Micarta or ebony. Jim's customer service is second to none and his craftsmanship is a master class for any aspiring bowyer.

Ive owned 2. Both great bows! Super fast and a joy to shoot
-
Top of the heap, hard to do better IMHO
-
Not to hijack the thread, but is "Dark Matter" similar to G-10?
-
All I shoot these days, have 2 now and have had 4 at one time.
As others have stated top tier bow and bowyer, you will like it if you decide to get Jim to make it.

Also do a search on here and you will find many pictures already posted or go to Jim's Facebook account to see some of his latest creations.

I have a triple Dark Matter. Tough to find anything that's better.

I picked up a used on recently. 54 in 40@28.
Dark matter riser, Chimera limb - carbon on belly side only.
Very easy to shoot well and very fun to shoot. I like it a lot!
You can't go wrong!

I have a dark matter triple carbon and it is a bomb. Super fast and accurate great cast easy to tune. I compare it with the top recurve bows at the same poundage and it shoots the same spine arrows with the same authority.

Have owned three Triple Carbon Elites with Dark Matter.
A wonderful shooting experience.

May wish to do a search to read a most applicable review titled:

I have a Chimera and a Triple Carbon Elite with Dark Matter.
Both of them are outstanding bows. They are fast and stable -- and easy to shoot and have fun with. They also maximize the power of the bow so that you can move down a few pounds in draw weight and get the same performance you would get with a higher draw weight.
When you order, ask for the standard grip, Jim will make it fit your hand based on the tracing you send.

I have a "simple" glass bow from Jim. I have had it for 7 or 8 years and love it. Every year I tell myself I need to hunt with some of my other high-end bows, but I always pull out my Centaur. It has had a lot of blood on it through the year, in addition to many great memories. At my age, hunting situations, and so on, it does all that I ask from it. It is plenty fast--but most importantly, it's just fun to shoot.
Finally, Jim is a great guy to deal with.

My go-to bow.
I have owned five or six Centaurs, kept two that were made for me. Top notch rd bows.

Great bows built by an even better person. :notworthy: Wish I hadn't let my Triple Carbon Elite go.

ive had a triple carbon elite dark matter and still have a carbon elite. But my favorite is a glass lil shooter made by Jim for Selway archery. That bow shoots bullet holes and has taken many a critter. Think I prefer glass to carbon.
