Title: super glove or duraglove
Post by: buckeye_hunter on October 31, 2007, 05:10:00 PM
My demascus glove is flat worn out. I would like to get a different type that allows for a smoother release.

As a result, I was looking at Three Rivers and wondering which glove is better, the Super Glove or the Dura Glove.  They both have very good reviews. I know the Buffalo/Elk Big Shot is supposed to be great, but I really like a full palm glove.

Thanks for your input,
-Charlie

I just picked up a Dura glove and realy like it so far. I am getting a very nice smooth release. I have not had it long enough to see how durable it is. No break in time, felt good from the get-go.

I have been using a 3 rivers dura-glove for about 5 months, switched from a tab to it, the nylon fingers are great, fast and smooth release. The leather is not as good as the damascas glove, seems to wear on the seams.

I bought both and prefered the super glove with the cordovan tips. My son fell in love with the Duraglove with the nylon tips, ( cordura ). I shoot 60lbs and the nylon tips were a little thin for me on that many pounds over a long shooting session. My fingers got sore in the first joint. Both are great products ! Buy both and try them out.

Super glove.  I have not yet worn out the first one I ever bought...and I've had it for seven years.  Plus, the release is super smooth.
Alaska Bowhunting Supply is a sponsor and that's where I buy mine.

If you like the dura glove then try a Grizzly glove from Alaska bowhunting supply. Like what was said previously they are a sponsor.

I have a dura glove and love it. I like the darker color for hunting. The super wears like iron, but I think I get a cleaner release with the duraglove than I do with my superglove.

Went ahead and ordered the grizzly from Braveheart.  Don't like their payment system, but I really appreciate this site.  I will always support a sponsor if possible.

I have both and like both very much. Whatkind of draw weight do you shoot. the Dura glove is thinner than the Super. If you shoot 55# and above and shoot a lot the Dura glove might not give you enough protection but it does have a very slick release.

Thankfully, there are choices to suit every taste.

I wore out gloves till I got the Superglove. I have the older and newer versions. I believe the cordovan is somewhat thinner on the newer supergloves that Ed (ABS sponsor) makes and sells to other retailers.

Like Claudia, I've had an original one longer than hers by a bunch... over 15 years now I think. Ratty, nasty, sweaty with threads coming out here and there but it still gives me acleana release.

I ended up with ring-finger tendon problems and appreciate the thicker hide. I feel the tension, but the Deep Hook and just think "OK" and it's GONE!  :)

I only shoot 45lbs, I think the grizzly will be okay.

super glove, the first i ordered was a large and was just a tad big.i went to catawba n.c.june of 06 and tryed a medium, the fit was perfect so i bought it,long story i know but,i have been shooting it almost everday since,17 months and i average 200 shots a day and it won't wear out.i bought a back up.its still in the package.i also bought the dura glove and it seems to me it would be a great glove for lighter bows.it has a slick release, but its super glove all the way for me.i'v tryed the skookums and the berlins and american also.so i know the difference for me.regards, robert  :campfire:    :coffee:
