A few TradFests ago I had the opportunity to shoot one of Brad Hawkins' Toelke Chinooks. Since then Dans bows have intrigued me. Well thanks to one of our Brothers in WV having a week moment I have a 56" Pika on the way to the bluegrass state.
Have fun with your new girl, TJ!!!!!
Bisch
Those Toelke's are :archer2: . Congrats!!
Let us know how it shoots!
Oooooooo.....nice! I love my Whip. I bet that Pika treats you like a King!
Tom...your gonna love it..!!
Shot my friend's Pika a couple weeks back. Nice shooting zippy little bow
My pika is the smoothest drawing bow I have. I have a whip, 2 lynx, and 2 chinooks all from Dan
Congrats Tom! Those Toelke's are sweet shooters!
Some of the nicest bows on the market! Enjoy
Thanks guys. Looking forward to this one.
Oh can someone take the string off their 56" Pika and give me a length? Also what brace do you have it on? Dan says 7-3/4" range.
Congrats buddy !!! Looking forward to pictures and a full review when you get a chance.
Congratulations to you tom I am sure you 2 will get along just fine!
And... it's a very short wait. Always is for a Toelke.
"Oh can someone take the string off their 56" Pika and give me a length? Also what brace do you have it on? Dan says 7-3/4" range. "
52.5 string 7-5/8 brace
Thanks Michael.
I'm such a horrible influence! 53.5" SBD here nets be right at 7.5" for brace height on my 56" Pika T/D.
Any chance that he may send to the wrong Ky address? Maybe Corbin Ky?
Ha I hope not Tony, if you are coming to the Tradfest I will let you shoot her all you want though.
Nothing like a thirst quencher...
Congrats!
Good stuff TJ. I hope the two of you play nice on the sandbox lol

Joe, This one is second hand so should be here in a couple days.
If you give Dan a call he will hook you up with all the information you will need. The Pika is a great shooter.
Dave
Dave, I was reluctant to call Dan about the bow as it is second hand and didn't want to bother him about something he didn't make any money on. But since we had a discrepancy with the string length and how the bow was tillered I did. He answered all my questions and we chatted for a long time about hunting also. Here is the cool part. He said if the tiller didn't suit me I could send it to him and he would fix it for the price of shipping only. What a great guy.
without pics it didn't happen!! :)
Yes Dan is good people!
Congrats!
anxious to hear what you think of it!
Thanks guys I'll post some pics when she arrives.
A few years back Dan built me a Lynx with a set of recurve and longbow limbs. I sent him my Curlew riser for him to duplicate the grip. When they came in the mail he'd refinished my Curlew riser without my asking, no change. His response was "it could use a refinish". Now that's service.
TJ, I'm sure you and that Pika will get along just fine
Michael, that is awesome. I deal with people all day ordering and buying different things and really appreciate what we have in the trad community. Believe me the world just doesn't do business like this anymore and it's very refreshing every time I deal with anyone in our game.
Enjoy! I am sure you will. Dan is tops! Some say the Toelke's are not fancy enough for them. In my eyes they are beautiful and so functional. Its nice knowing I do not have to worry about my equipment. Try and shoot a 2 piece. The added weight is perfect and the take apart convenience is worth the money.
Hey Gary,
The one I picked up is a two piece. I know I will like the added weight for stability if nothing else. The connection sure looks solid and without ever seeing one looks to me like the best take down system available.

Nice. I am glad you got the two piece. I like the Pika but I just shoot and like the feel of my 58" whip a little better. After getting my whip I forgot about the classifieds. Look forward to your review.
Tom, the Pika shot the best for me ~ 7 7/8...

Oh I dont know....it all depends on what you tell Dan you want. If you want fancy, he can do that. I like my whip a lot...

Congrats on the new to you bow Tom. Perfect bow for a big spring gobbler :goldtooth:
Thanks guys, wow that's a beauty.
:campfire:
Well she showed up today and had a chance to fling a few. The weight is perfect for me and she is everything you all said she would be. Amazing bow. Fit/finish, performance and the bow bolt is fantastic. Shoots my carbon express 90's, Gold Tips 1535's and my 60-65 Doug firs all great. Couldn't ask for anything more from a bow. I will hopefully never have to part with this one.

"Again" As I recall this is the first time!
Congrats Tom! If you ever want to get rid of it hit me up
Ok Jon, but you may just want to go ahead and call Dan.
Tom, if your liking the Toelke Pika...do not shoot a Lynx..!!
I just picked up a Lynx and it's the bomb..!! The Toelke's are definitely building some awesome bows...!!
X2 on the Lynx !!
You all need to stop. Mrs TJ isn't going to like you very well. I actually tried to get Fred to sell me his but he is standing tough at the moment.
Guss your not joking... Just picked up a lynx as well and its unbelievable. quite, smooth, and fast...I love it..
I also recently picked up a Pika off the classifieds,

I really enjoy mine.
Sweet looking bow there sir!
Clay, how does the leather grip on a two piece takedown do?
So far so good! I have no clue how he got the leather to wrap around all those bends and curves so well, but it hugs the bow perfectly. I really like having the laces to rest my fingers on, kind of reminds me the way your fingers hold the laces on a football.
