Title: alternatives to varathane for skins on limbs
Post by: sunny hill archer on January 26, 2007, 12:38:00 PM
I can't find the Varathane reccomended for the final coats on snake skinned limbs. All I can find  in the can is oil based. Any alternative suggestions? Thanks,  Michael

I like Krylon Matte for hunting limbs-zero glare

I have used satin spar urathane for the last few bows I have backed with snakes. Looks really good.

Tongue Oil has always worked well for me, but it does give it a bit of yellow tint.  The other finish I have had good results with is the Massey finish, diluted epoxy.
