Title: Nusance pigs
Post by: Danny Rowan on March 01, 2017, 01:59:00 PM
OMG. These pigs are driving me crazy. Keep knocking over my trash and spreading it all over the yard. Time for some late night recon and sending some arrows their way. They are getting too bold. This means war I say!

everyone says that until they get pigs on their property....I love to hunt them but I want to do it on other peoples property not my own.  They are some of the most destructive animals on earth...nothing is sacred...plants, animals, fowl...all are eaten and if they cant eat it they will just tear it up and knock it over looking for something to eat.  I hate them and love them at the same time. LOL

Bisch,

We also have Sambar deer. No luck yet on the pigs, but I have not had the chance to get after them due to work. But they will pay. I am especially after a big boar that is the main culprit.

Danny, how do the pigs there compare to the feral pigs we have stateside?  Size, temperament, explosive reproduction?

Andrew, they are the same as on the mainland, though they do not get quite as big. reproduce like rabbits and can be nasty mean. And sometimes they do not care if people are around. My sister-in-law lives just down the road and they pay her no mind and tear up her garden and back yard and walk around nonchalantly. At my place if they see me they are gone, guess cause I normally have a bow in my hand and have killed a few.   :bigsmyl:

I know everyone loves the thought of killing that big boar because we are trophy oriented, but if you want to hurt the herd, kill the sows.  Boars will have a hard time reproducing with other boars..

I'm with you Brock.  I've been part of regulation setting that was as harsh on pigs as laws can be.

I know people love to hunt them and I did once. It was very interesting and exciting. But I'd rather they kept to their styes and my refrigerator -- except where they occur naturally.

Reproducing rototillers.

I would love to see a picture of that big boar if you kill it....

and that will eliminate Follow the Leader mentality....

Lord knows You've Been Around Hogs long enough to know better than most....

and maybe they'll leave your garbage alone which I know is your main point other than eating fine sausage.

Yep, Terry, if I get him it will be good and I will post a picture. I have seen him all over the area while driving to work at night, either knocking over the large trash containers or rooting through the trash after he knocked them over. He is the main culprit and if other pigs see him do it they will learn and follow his lead. The only good thing so far is that he seems to be a loner. So, I am on a quest.
