Title: Dark Gray to Black wood (stained) limbs?
Post by: Rando on February 22, 2017, 01:20:00 PM
Hey all -
looking to have a primarily gray & black bow built, something that looks different from my current Bocote bow... Pretty much have the riser figured out - phenolic & gray Dymondwood I think.
Looking for ideas, and pics if you have 'em for wood limbs that naturally are, or have been stained to be near-black in appearance. I can always go the black glass route, just thought I'd see what other options/looks there might be...
thanks for any ideas!

Will,  That is top notch to say the very least.  As we were prone to saying when I lived in Tennessee, "You done good!".

Had Jim Neaves build me a 62" carbon elite. The bow has a strong dymond wood riser stained blackish. I love it. With the carbon limbs it's nice. In the sun the colors can barely peak through.

This is stained amo ash. Works great in a pop-up blind.

Did a few in the Actionwood but don't know if any would still be  available or even if it would interest you. Got this from ole Kenny M back in his glory days. Lol.

Don't have any pics, but black walnut makes for a really dark limb veneer without needing to be stained.

I have a Gregg Coffey built Super Shrew with dark charcoal stained bamboo limbs. I really like the look.
