Title: Bear Patriot Arrow Shelf

Just got this bow in 50# and first thing I noticed is the odd scooped out arrow shelf.  Never seen this before. Anything special needed to shoot this bow?

A friend of mine had issues with his, he ended up using a leather rest with a hard piece of leather underneath to elevate it a bit.

What kind of issues was he having?  I will send this back if the design is a tuning problem.

He was getting funny flight after removing the "stock" leather shelf.  This was the original design keep in mind. I know they have done some changes to them since.
