Title: McCullough '59'r Kazoo attendees missed the boat
Post by: Ray Lyon on February 13, 2017, 11:01:00 AM
My buddy Greg and I traveled to Ron LaClair's shop this past Saturday to pick up a bow that he brought back from the Kalamazoo expo that he was selling for John McCullough.  John hasn't made any bows for a while and Ron was helping sell off some leftover bows from a few years ago.  He had a 50@28" 59'r that he brought back from the show. My buddy had been looking for one for a while and he bought it.  It has waterfall bubinga veneer on the back and black glass on the belly. Bubinga riser.  It the words of Greg "I'll never buy another bow, this is the finest shooting bow I've ever shot".  Hmmmm.  I didn't get to put an arrow through it yet, but I will.  He said he broke at nock with his second arrow from the bow.
If you shot this bow at Kazoo, Greg thanks you. If you didn't, he thanks you more.     ;)

John built some great shooting bows. I regret selling the 53# Griffin I had. Always keep my eyes open for another one.

I bought a "56'er a month or so ago and it is sweet to shoot and easy on the eyes too.  Now I have a Griffin takedown and a '56'er from John McCullough. Both are fantastic bows.

I've still got a couple of John's bows for sale, both are LH Griffins. One is 60" 43#@ 28" the other is 58" 47#@ 28".

They are new bows, some of the last John made before he stopped.

I saw the picture of that broken nock....and Ray we both know that Greg isn't prone to gushing about bows (you know, like me...). If Greg says he's found his perfect bow, I believe him.

I picked that bow up and almost took it to shoot. Only reason I didn't is because I knew I'd want to buy it. He got one hell of a nice bow!
