This is a very good and well put together event. I have not missed one yet. Quite a few vendors to stock up on your supplies. And of course you may find that there is a Crooked Stic or Herway bow that you cant live without. :bigsmyl:
Look forward to TradFest every year! April can't get here fast enough!
Where abouts in Kentucky?
I'm bringing the wife's jack russel. It's a hell yen. Just grab her from the stack when the brew starts to bubble Randy.
100 Whites Lane Harrodsburg Ky. South of town 4-5 miles.
I always look forward to this great shoot!
Bill
TJ, aint much meat on them Jack Russell's, and they are pretty stringy.....She may make it....maybe !
If you want something good to eat bring some venison and let Randy do his thing to it.
Randy - We plan on being there again this year with our Ace Archery Tackle booth. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. Bob & Jan
Looking forward to the shoot >>----->
I put it on the calendar, I might be able to make this work as I have kin in Harlan County so I could kill two birds with one stone ;)
I have 3 deer in the freezer, so there should be plenty of Venison/Pork Burgers to go around !
Is there camping or some place nearby to stay?
Plenty of free camping Jason... No showers... There are porta pots... And all the free firewood you can burn... At least the wood used to be free...
Great times... Great shoot!
Jonathan
Firewood is free!
Firewood still free. Please use a firepit, or remove and replace sod. There are plenty of motel rooms in Harrodsburg, and Danville. Just google them. Harrodsburg is about 5-10 miles closer.
Looking quite forward to attending this grand event each year.
Always a great time, our same group of five plan to be there. Now if I can just find the time to get ready for it, here is the bows that two of us plan to be shooting in their current state..

Reservations made. I really enjoy this shoot.
I'm really considering heading there - haven't been back to that part of the Bluegrass since I finished UK in '93. It would sure be fun to see some old haunts, along with a TradFest!
Rough Run, you should come, you wont regret it. With the 3 courses, American round, and novelties, you could do everything just once, and fill the weekend, but the 40 target 3-D is one price, shoot all weekend, so its a heck of a deal !
The ingratiating experience can not be procured but only lived.
A time for all.......
Randy, time and shoot fee for the American Round?
Should be at 1 pm saturday, whatever we charged last year..., $10 I think ???? Some one confirm, or look it up.
Hope to make it up this year with a newb!!
Looking forward to it. Can't wait.
Here's an idea I think would be good. All tradgangers going wear a sticker that has your tradgang name on it. I plan to.
The Bow Hospital is planning on setting up this year. Bring your bows by to be worked on and save on some shipping. I also have a good selection of used bows for sale and always looking to buy your used ones. Hope to see you there.
John
Glad the bow hospital will be there, I have one that needs attention.
Ed Neat Longbows also contacted me that he will be there as well. A very generous vendor, he donated a dozen bamboo shafts, with self nocks and a finnish on them for the raffle last year. I cant imagine how much time he invested in those to get the perfection that they showed. Im going to say he is the best in all primitive gear, bar none.
Getting close!
Wanted to come this year bad, but the birth of my son will rearrange my schedule.... a change happily made! It's a shame my child bonding time is gonna carry over into turkey season...
Unfortunately it doesn't look like I'm going to make it after all. Maybe next year.
Chad
Hate to hear it guys, but life can get in the way, maybe next year. I think our American Round attendance will be up, several have mentioned it. Building two additional butts.
I will be there with a vendors table of custom wood arrows and some of my processed turkey feathers.
Haven't made it in 3-4 years. I only live about 25 miles north. Always seemed to be out of town.
Planning on it this year.
Hitman makes some really gorgeous arrows. :)
Looking forward to hearing Mr.Charlie Lamb's sharing of his knowledge, experience and fulfillment generated by the mysticism of the traditional way.
Firewood is cut, and stored on pickup bed trailers in central locations. I will see to it that it is covered, and nice and dry. It is good seasoned wood. The trailers make it an easier job for us, as it requires less handling when the event is over. I will haul whats left home.
I should get there Sat. morning. My favorite trad event.
No rain, no rain, no rain!
You guys have fun> I will not be there this year. I have some health problems I need to get solved.
Hate to hear that Mike. We'll keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Always enjoy seeing your new bows. Hopefully you can make it down to the Tyler shoot.
Rob..
Remember the picture on page 2 of the two bows I said I was planning to bring? Here it is again so you don't have to look back...

My favorite style of bow, shorty reflex /deflex longbow !
If anyone that's going to be there bring your turkey feathers if you have any and I will be glad to work out something with you to turn them into beautiful fletching feathers.
Hey ! I have a bunch of RW, id like to get worked !
Hey ! I have a bunch of RW, id like to get worked !
The countdown is on.
Sounds good Randy. I'll do them for you. Tell you the details down there.
Randy - will you be having the same food vendor as in prior years?
Yes, Roy Campbell the vendor that has been with us from the start.
Just a week away, go away rain clouds!
I'll be a first timer this year, looking forward to it.
The TimberGhost will be ready for action.
The Clock is a ticking Extended forecast looks great!!

Rob..
LOL, I sure am willing to go with your prediction. :biglaugh:
Four days...
Three days, pack your longhandles.
I'm heading down Thursday....can't wait. :archer:
We will be headed that way early Friday morning
All courses set, porta johns on site, target butts out and a few old 3-d's set with them if you must shoot animals before Friday morning. Food vendor setup and ready to serve Friday, tent comes tomorrow, finish barricades and a few polishing touches. Much thanks to Jimmy Sullivan, Jeff Daniels, BJ Noe, Wayne Wallen, and Doug Hewitt for all the work they have done these past couple days. Also those that helped the last shoot in getting the canmpfire wood put up. I understand Jeff's wife is a pretty good bridge builder as well. Please take the time to thank these and any other volunteers you see working their tails off at the event this weekend. They all work for a t-shirt, and a pat on the back.
The pats on the back are free, so lets all try and overpay them.
Heading out Friday morning.
Getting packed up now to leave early in morning.
Going to be great weather for the Shoot today! Sunny and 64!
It was a beautiful weekend with a great turnout! Not sure of the exact number of shooters but there was a bunch. Pot luck supper on Saturday was excelent. Hopefully someone will chime in and tell us who won the best dish cook off. Many thanks to the Vendors, more Bows and Arrows than you could shake a Deer at! Big Jim, didn't rest untill every customer was served. The KTBA staff was right on point! Can't wait till next year!
Rob..
My boys and I had a blast! Looking foward to next year!
Had a blast also, old age hasn't let me recover yet, worn out but loved it! Cook off winning dish was the ham. It was good but I had to vote for the dumplings myself. This was our crew..

Thanks for the compliment on the dumplings carpdaddy I worked hard on them.
Have been fortunate to attend numerous events over the years.
This year's event at the KY Tradfest is one of my most memorable. I sincerely wish that the KTBA could hold another equally large or larger venue.
No suggestions for improvement. Would have to get over all the overwhelming fulfillment incurred before any possible dissection and scrutiny.
Thank you, Randy, and KTBA family.
I had a great weekend with the family!

I felt I was one of the family. What a great bunch of people. It was tough to leave this one.
You are, Charlie, you are. :) I enjoyed getting to shake your hand and say howdy.
Thanks for coming Charlie. You're welcome back anytime.
