It doesn't take long in this hobby to start amassing a variety of broadheads and to start experimenting with them. And with many of the seasons winding down its time to put away most of my perfectly sharp broadheads for awhile. So how do you like to store yours? Do you keep them in one of those Broadhead boxes you can buy? A plano box? Or so you just toss em in a drawer together and resharpen them for the fall? I usually keep the most recent batch in a plano box and the older ones are stored a little looser on my archery tackle box. Probably not the best for the blades, or safest way, so I'm interested in alternatives. I know some folks use duct tape when traveling, but I don't want residue on mine from long term storage. So how do you stash yours?
I have some sort of light foam from around some past electronics and I just stick the heads into the foam. They don't bounce around and are held neatly.
do the same but wrap the foam in painters tape to keep it from falling apart and cut it to fit inside a shoe box, you can fit a lot of BHs in there.
I got a foam Block at some woman's craft store
The plastic boxes that bulk screws come in work great as a broadhead box. I just put some black foam in it, coat my broadheads with Vaseline and insert them into foam.
Mine are all glue ons, so I put the sharp arrows in my traveling arrow box for storage. The dull, unsharpened ones just lay here or there.
Mine are also glue on heads. I just leave them in the quiver with the broad head covers on them. When next season gets close, I'll get them out and resharpen. They generally stay fairly sharp, but natural oxidation will require touch up. In short, I give them no special care.
I use the bigger pill bottles lol. I can fit a dozen razorheads in each and they stack nicely. You can get pill bottles a lot of places. That's the best system I've found for storing heads. I also have a few dozen 57 -60 razorheads and call me crazy but I actually vacuum seal them in packs of 6 lol.my basement has lots of moisture and I don't want them rusting.
My current " sharp" zwickeys stay on the arrows in a quiver. The rest are just in a spot in my archery tackle box, unprotected
Sharpen as needed.
I use the clear plastic food storage containers, with foam cut to shape. I write on the lids and sides with a sharpie to label them. I keep everything separated in different tubs so I don't mix them up.
I keep mine in that softer black foam. I treat them with a light coat of Obenaufs to prevent oxidation
I use those Plano plastic ammo boxes - take one of those swimming pool Noodle Foam things that my kids quit using and cut a piece of the noodle just a bit longer than the plano box so that its a wedge fit in the plano case. Stuff it down deep and you have a broadhead box that can hold up to 50 single blades and about 30 triple blade broadheads - long ones fit no prob!
Thanks, guys! I don't know why I never thought about adding foam to the boxes I keep mine in. It seams like an obvious idea!
I have a wooden box that 2 bottles of wine came in. I cut a 1" deep peice of foam and stuck it in the bottom of the box. I coat the edges of my good heads with bow string Wax. The box holds about 3 dozen heads.
i throw all of mine in a danish cookie tin. I resharpen everything before every hunt anyway.

I had a man give me some cigar box's of different size's and cut a piece of foam to fit neatly in box. I simply pushed them in and can store over a dozen in them.
Foam can be found on most job sites when used to insulate walls etc. Look in the big dumpsters cause lots of stuff come in box's with some sort of foam to keep fixtures protected in shipment.
Some cigar shops will just give you the wood box if you are a continued customer.
I bought a large fishing tackle box for all of my archery bits and pieces. I wrap my broad heads in Kleenex and put them in a compartment. I usually fit 3 or 4 in each compartment. It works out well.
I have over 100 arrows with broadheads on them in a rather large box with dividers for spines. Been using the same box for many years and my arrows stay straight as long as the arrows are standing straight. Then I have a box down there with heads in it, there are a bunch in a dresser drawer over there. Then there is the wife's heads, not as many, Eskimos. Life would be so much simpler if cedar arrows came in a bit heavier for me, all my broadheads would be 125 Eskimos.
I spray my BHs with CorrosionX... Never have a problem with rust since I startd using it..Store in a foam block...
I just have mine in some plastic boxes during the off season. I'll re-sharpen when I'm going to use. I must have at least 50 heads of all make and grain weight.
