Well I traded for this bow with a fellow Trad Ganger. It is lighter in draw than my other bows, only 50#@28" and I do not have any proper arrows in the correct spine but just had to shoot it. Grabbed some Carbonwood 400's and went and shot. I was very suprised at how well it shoots even though these arrows are overspined for this bow. It sure is a beauty and shoots as good as it looks, very quiet. 62",green glass back and orange glass belly, tiny little tips..
If I am ever lucky enough to find one that is 60# you can bet I am buying it.

That is a pretty thing too Danny. Congrats. I love the bear bows around that time. Great shooting bows.
Sweet Danny! Now how long before Donny claims it. lol
That bow shoots a nice group in the right hands Danny-show us the Magnum too...............I'll get a pic of the Forgewoods posted!
OOOHHH my! that is just jaw dropping cool.<><
I'm fortunate to have one of these in 65lbs, and Danny's right, this is an incredible shooting bow! I've collected a number of older Bears-56,57,60,62 and 64 Kodiaks, all 62-65lbs, and this Grizzly's the best shooting of the bunch. The speed's the same as my 65lb 1964 but the Grizzly's quieter and smoother. Everyone talks about the Kodiaks, but this 1960 Grizzly was special.
Dave
I have a 60 Grizz that's not in as nice of condition and is only 44#, but I love it. It's a good shooter and quiet as a mouse. The only bow I like better is my 57 Kodiak. I'm not sure anything can beat that.
That right there is the bow that got me interested in collecting old Bears! I love mine (thanks Bjorn!) Most people consider the '59 Kodiak to be the Holy Grail of bows, but the '59-'60 Grizzly takes the cake in my book.
I have a 59 Griz very pretty. Love that green and orange glass. I figured I would never find a 59 Kodiak cheap so I bought the griz. I was born in 59 so it seemed cool to have some kind of 59 Bear. I also have a 57 Kodiak Special 48# and I gotta say that that bow feels great to shoot and I would even say it is kinda fast. I have posted this before but a nice companion piece to your collection might be a replica Bear Archery Catalog. I bought both the 57 and 59 catalogs to go with my bows. They look and feel great. Here is a link to where I got mine.
