Title: Best Limb Bolt Quiver
Post by: JApple on January 20, 2017, 11:49:00 PM
Quick question,  Im using the Great Northern limb bolt quiver.. not bad and pretty convenient for when your in a tree stand you can take it off.. it seems a little noisy... any other ideas for a quieter limb bolt quiver such as the Thunderhorn or Selway... I don't mind leaving it on during hunting, appreciate your thoughts... v/r..

I had a Selway on my 3 piece Orion and I loved it. I would highly recommend it. Lightweight, quiet, and secure. The downside is you have to leave it on when hunting as there is no quick detach feature, but none of the critters I killed with that bow objected.

That Quick Detach GN is my favorite quiver by far, I have two.

In fact, I've sold off 4 other quivers in the past 10 days because this model is it for me (Bohning Lynx, BOA side-mount, G5, and Mathews web ... yep, everyone of these were on different of my recurves).

One of the things to be careful about is depth of hood. Some of my quivers have been too shallow to cover the back of my broad heads.

I don't shoot with the quiver on my bow so I can't comment on the sound factor. I like the secure arrow hold, the ease of getting on and off the bow, and the look.

I was told by a reputable Bowyer that in case of a dry fire it (the Great Northern detachable mount) acts a little like a limb saver also.

I have a limb mount on my bob lee. Its very solid and haven't had any issues. I highly recommend them.

I like the GN as well for a few reasons.Easy to remove and can sit very c.lose to trhe bows riser for the best balance.

Somethings vibrating on the quiver that can be silenced I do believe. It might be the 2 metal rods that run the length of the quiver that allow for length adjustments possibly. If those vibrate against each other.Metal on metal thier could be some noise. That could be taken of.Could be something else as well

Mine were quiet.I did a tiny bit of doctoring to mine

Been using a Selway for years.  Strong, quiet.  Spreads the arrows/fletchings out a little more than a GN so there's no noise from feathers contacting one another at the shot.  I like it.

I also like the GN quick detach. Just don't have a bow for mine now.

Selway and Thunderhorn guy here.  I always shoot and hunt with the quiver on my bow and these two are my favorites.  I hate it when my feathers touch in the quiver and I can keep them separate with these.
