Got home to late to call 3 Rivers. Do any of you know if the weight tubes that they sell ,will fit a 1916 aluminum shaft? Thank you
-
I don't think they will, they have them to fit inside a standard size carbon with a .246 ID. And they have them to fit an Axis with a .204 ID.A 1916 is in between those diameters. The .246 is too large and the Axis is too small.

If the tube is too small you can crimp and bend along the tube, and it will keep it from rattling.
I saw it on the how-to video site at 3Rivers.

what about rubber tubing? most hardware store have a large variety of sizes and types

I would probably go with the rope or something similar. I tried weight tubes once and they acted like a slide hammer and would actually pop the nock out. They were cut to fit snug so that wasn't the problem, but they would drive the insert out over time.

When I used the weight tubes, I'd put a couple dabs of glue on the nocks to hold them in. The rubber tubing I checked out added roughly 175 grains to the mass weight of my arrows, which isn't always a bad thing. It just depends on what you're goal is for a finished arrow.
