I ordered a dozen FMJs like the 340 AXIS in Gary's Sponsor Classifieds. Can't wait to get them. I couldn't build them cheaper myself and if I did I can guarantee they wouldn't look like his!
Thanks Gary

Looks like you are splicing the quill as well as the barbs, is that correct?
-
Wow, those are really cool!
-
BAK
I have done both ways and found the quill splicing weakens the feather and seems to not look as nice in the long run
And I have made a some jigs and reworked a few tools that make my system work the best for me
Thank you all for the kind words

Gary,
I think you mentioned in the past what you are using for cap and crest paints. If you don't mind giving away some trade secrets to us amateurs would can you tell us again?
I got some fletchlac white for cap dip and tried it tonight. Whew. I'm still dizzy!
Thanks,
Tedd

Thats the stuff Bohning Fletch lac is what I use I mix some colors to get a few they dont stock.
and a lot of my cresting is done with Testors.
I have dip tanks I built to keep the fumes out of the work area the stuff can get you feeling light headed real fast
All the paint I use is Lac paint the colors look better with lac vs acrylic
