I've watched the three part video "Hitting them like Howard Hill" posted on YouTube. Unfortunately the transfer is quite poor, with bad video resolution.
Does anyone here know if anyone is selling DVD's of this superb teaching?
I also understand that there may be a book relating to this video, as well as other material by John. I'd be interested in those, as well.
Best wishes,
Frank

I have the original VHS and honestly, it is really not that much better quality than the youtube. At least it was in color!! :bigsmyl: Just realize that even video and cameras were pretty "traditional" in those days. LOL
I have his last book "Straight Shooting," which attempts to "set the record straight" about Howard Hill. It really is a good read if you can find one.
I think the info and instruction from the youtube is about as clear/good as anything out there.

3 Rivers had a DVD made from the original VHS . No clue on the book. As for a remake of the original film footage to DVD that an'it happening. This came up on another trad site that John was active on for a short time last year or so. Seems there are issues with the producers of the orginial footage and John Schulz. No details but the subject was closed.

I'd be really interested in such a DVD. But I searched the 3Rivers' site and couldn't find it.
Maybe they no longer have it? Or do you have to call them for it (maybe they don't adverize it?
Thanks,
Frank

I have the DVD that 3 Rivers sold. As already stated, the picture quality is as good as the VHS tape, that is, pretty poor. The Hitting 'Em like Howard Hill book has been out of print for quite a while now., as has John's other book "Straight Shooting"
Both occasionally surface on the auction sites, and they seem to sell for around $120 each.

I ordered the dvd directly from John's website. His daughter takes care of it. With it came a nice Thank You note from John. A class guy for sure.

Do it exactly as John describes. I wouldn't change any part of it.

Thank you, Deno.
Did you do so fairly recently?

So I just went to John's website. Is there a different one? It seems to have old information, and I can't find any place to order:

Fill out the form at the bottom of the Straight Shooiting and ask if there are more dvds available. She'll get back to you.

Click on Shooting Instruction and fill out the form. I did mine awhile back but I'm sure there are more to sell.

I think I will hold on to my books. At $120 I made a good investment. Think I will try to get the DVD as well. The VHS and our new TV don't mix.

I have the DVD from Mr Schulz, himself, which I imagine is a copy of the VHS master. It is much clearer than the youtube version, which really helps in picking up the fine points of his method.
Sometime ago, I was told that there were none left. However things may have changed.

Thank you, Deno. I will email them to see what they have left, including any other books or videos. An archer has already contacted me and is selling me a copy of the dvd which he has. So for the Hitting Them video I should be good.

That's a great video. I shoot very similar

Sounds good Frank
You may get lucky and there are a few left. The Thank You note from John totally surprised me.
Framed it with his picture of course...lol
