I am interested to hear your opinions on the best, or easiest to use, camcorder mount for use in a tree stand. I am interested in making some videos of my trad bowhunting, especially from tree stands, and I need some experienced guidance as to what mount I should look at purchasing.
Advice on digital camcorders would be welcome as well.

Anyone have any advice to offer?

My first year. I just bought a cheap muddy camera arm. They are several video's on making your own. Just do a search on youtube.

I started using the Dinkum ActionPod Pro this year and I really like it. The gripper is really strong and will go around something 2" in diameter.

If you are looking for a quality arm, see if you can find a 3rd Arm camera arm. I think they were bought out by someone, and the name may have changed. however, they are a top quality filming arm.

Check out Forth arrow arms. Real nice with carbon fiber and multiple bases

I used a Allen Tree Stand Camera Arm. If you hunt an open area where you can pan left and right for footage, you might look for a 3 piece arm.
I hunt in a thick rain forest and most of my footage was 15 yards or less, so the Allen worked very well.
I had a tree umbrella to stay dry and was able to tuck the camera close to me and keep it dry as well.

Gorilla Arm, if they still make them. Can't be beat.

Muddy makes a basic camera arm that really helps because it can swivel around trees and stuff. It sets up really easy and its durable and cheap only downside is it is a little heavy.

I use a screw-in treepod that I'm very happy with. Small, not heavy, very adjustable, extendable and under $50. No belts or straps. Send me a private message. I have a couple extra I could sell.

Gene- Do you have a link where this can be purchased?

Thanks Gene. I sent you a message.

RC, that looks pretty good. Lightweight and simple would be good for me.

Check out Hunter cradle arm and muddy arms. I have done quite a bit of filming and these work great. Hunter cradle clamps on just about anything square muddy straps to tree.

Here is one I made yesterday out of PVC pipe..Got about 8 bucks into it so far...I have since added 1/2 dowling inside the pipe to help stiffen it up..
Once I get it just right I will glue it up except for one joint in the center so it will adjust..

Bass Pro Cam mount and a primos 3 piece bow holder.RC
I do something just like RC except with the primos 2 piece. I have bought some others, including some expensive ones and find this works the best by far and is easiest to carry and position. Remember with all cameras, the BEST one is the one you have (or are willing to take with you). I found with others that they were too much of a hassle and I didn't take them along after awhile.
BTW: I would think RC's 3 piece would be better than my 2 piece arm. I had the two piece on hand when I first modded this.

So I redesigned my mount..I wasn't liking the tree mount so much..Now I have a permanent attachment to all my tree stands and I just slide it in and take it out when I go..Very simple and easy...
